    摘要: A four-point seat belt system for restraining a vehicle occupant in a vehicle seat. Two shoulder belts mounted on separate spool members are connected to a common retractor mechanism, which synchronizes web payout and retraction and also shares a load limiting function. The shoulder belts are connected to a lap belt, which is buckled centrally on the abdomen of the occupant. A load limiting system controls occupant motion and reduces force levels on the occupant's chest. A single load limiting method can be used to accommodate all occupants of the vehicle with specific force versus belt payout properties.

    摘要: An acceleration or deceleration sensor for locking a payout aircrew harness system comprises a frame or housing in which is received a heavy ball accommodated between opposing shells having opposing conical recesses receiving the ball. The shells are held against the ball by respective opposing springs whereby the ball and shells, in the absence of accelerating or decelerating forces are held in a balanced, equilibrium, position between the shells. The shells are carried at respective ends of respective levers or arms pivoted in the frame or housing, whereby movement of the ball in any direction relative to said frame or housing will cause pivotal movement of the arms. The sensor includes a trigger or trip mechanism of which one said arm forms part. Thus said a trigger or trip mechanism is operable by movement of said heavy ball relative to said frame or housing, to move from a sensing position to a locked position in which it will remain until a positive re-setting operation is carried out.

    摘要: A webbing retractor is disclosed. One end portion of a plate is fixed to a hollow cylindrical portion of a spool. An intermediate portion of the plate is entrained around an engaging pin and the like of a gear which can rotate relatively to the spool. A pawl provided at the gear abuts the plate, and is held at a position of non-engagement with stopper teeth against urging force of a coil spring. When the spool and the gear rotate relatively, the plate, whose widthwise dimension decreases toward a final end portion thereof, is taken-up onto the hollow cylindrical portion while being rubbed by the engaging pin and the like. A force limiter load in an energy absorbing process is decreased. The pawl, whose engagement with the plate is released, meshes with the stopper teeth such that rotation of the spool is impeded.

Attachment holes formed in the first leg plate and engaging pawls which engage with sensor openings are formed at appropriate portions of a sensor holder. Removal preventing portions are formed at corresponding portions of the sensor cover so as to prevent the engaging pawl from coming out of the attachment hole. Thus, the sensor holder and the sensor cover can be firmly secured to the first leg plate of the frame without using plugs.

    摘要: A vehicle sensor for a retractor for a vehicle safety restraint has a sensor mass in the form of an upturned hollow cup, formed in a single piece by injection molding or die casting, resting on an upstanding post. It may be of metal or high-density plastic material. Preferably a profiled pad is fixed or mounded on the underside of the lever or on the upper surface of the cup. In this way the arrangement causes the lever to lift through substantially the same angle whichever the direction of acceleration activating the sensor. This sensor is an improvement over known sensors because it is simpler and cheaper to manufacture, easier to calibrate relatively accurately, and does not exhibit right/left dependency.

    摘要: A sensor for use in a safety belt retractor equipped with a reel blocking mechanism performs a vehicle-sensitive triggering of said blocking mechanism. A sensor housing (30) has a trough in which a sensor ball (34) is received and a sensor lever which is pivotally mounted on said sensor housing (30). The lever has a cap which bears on said ball. The cap and the trough each have at least one portion connected via at least one elongated web (40) to said sensor housing (30). Thus, these cap and trough portions are elastically deflectable under the action of vibrations transmitted to the ball (34) in use of the sensor to dampen noise generated by the sensor parts.

    摘要: A webbing retractor for winding a webbing which is fastened around a seat occupant of a vehicle is arranged such that a claw member is engaged with a ratchet wheel fixed to a webbing take-up shaft and rotation of the take-up shaft in a direction in which the webbing is drawn out is thereby prevented when the speed of the vehicle suddenly reduces. Engagement of the claw member with the ratchet wheel is achieved by engaging a rotary wheel which is rotated in the same direction as that in which the take-up shaft is rotated with a driving plate which drives the claw member to cause it to be engaged with the ratchet wheel through a cam ring and an engaging lever. In consequence, the rotational force of the rotary wheel is reliably transmitted to the driving plate by means of the cam ring and the engaging lever.

    摘要: An acceleration sensing device comprises a case, an inertial body supported on a base portion of the case, and an actuating pawl pivotably mounted on an upstanding wall portion of the case and having a first arm on one side of its pivot mounting engageable by the inertial body such that the inertial body can move by its inertia in any direction generally horizontally upon an acceleration of the case and upon so moving pivot the pawl to an active position. A blocking member is movably supported by the wall portion of the case at a location below the pivot mounting of the pawl. The blocking member has a hole, the edge of which is engageable by the inertial body upon its movement horizontally in any direction from the stable position so as to move the blocking member horizontally. The pawl has a second arm on the opposite side of the pivot mounting from the first arm, and the second arm of the pawl and the blocking member have protrusions that are engageable with each other when the blocking member is in a blocking position and upon engaging prevent the pawl from pivoting from its inactive position. The blocking member and the case have mutually engaging surfaces to move the blocking member to its blocking position and acting in conjunction with movement of the blocking member by the inertial body when the inertial body moves to its stable position from any other position on the base member.
