    摘要: This invention relates to a hinge for interconnecting sections of a floating dock and for interconnecting walkways with floating docks. This hinge protects docks from being damaged by stress exerted by the side to side or up and down motion of the wave, storm or high winds. This hinge can also be used for reconstructing old damaged docks. The hinge comprises two stackable sheet of twisting members which are preferably flat, each having an arcuate front end for facilitating a twisting motion of the twisting members relative to each other, a mounting plate, and a central opening for accomodating a pivot rod; a fastener for keeping the hinge components together; and, preferably washers to protect the outside surfaces of the twisting members from abrasion. One side of the hinge preferably attaches to a dock section having a dock joint bracket while the other end preferably attaches to a plain corner bracket: to allow vertical pivotal movement of the dock sections in response to wave motions. A cover is provided if a gap is formed by the space occupied by the hinge.

    摘要: A device for maintaining docks or other floating bodies at a given distance from and orientation to the shore by means of a ratchet assembly hinged on the side of the dock closest to shore, and a line attached to two guides, such as pulleys, on the underside of the dock. When the level of the water varies, the device maintains the dock at the same distance from the new waterline as it was from the old, in the following manner: the line is anchored at one end on shore and at the other to a bottom anchor beyond the farthest point the dock will extend to at lowest water level. Tension in the line pushes the dock towards the shore until the ratchet contacts the bottom, where equilibrium is established. If the water falls, the ratchet pushes the dock away from shore and a new equilibrium is established, farther out; this repeats as long as the water falls. If the level rises, the ratchet is raised off the bottom and the dock moves towards shore to a new equilibrium point. This continues as long as the water rises. Guides are configured so as to minimize rotational movement.

    摘要: A deck structure for a floating dock is comprised of a rectangular frame having opposite sides and opposite ends defined by interconnected C-shaped channel members facing inwardly of the frame and a plurality of cross members between and interconnected with the sides of the frame and constructed from C-shaped metal channel. The cross members have upper flanges spaced below the upper flanges of the side and end members of the frame, and deck units of wood material rest on the flanges of the cross members between the upper flanges of the side and end members of the frame which restrain displacement of the deck units relative to the frame in the directions between the opposite sides and opposite ends of the frame. The deck units have upper surfaces coplanar with the upper flanges of the frame, and the deck units are movable as such from the frame to provide access to passageways provided in the frame beneath the decking to accommodate utility lines and the like. The underside of the frame is adapted to be secured to float drums to provide a floating dock.

    摘要: A floating dock includes a plurality of float modules comprised of containers having opposing walls, a deck with opposing edges mounted in spaced relationship above the float modules, and a pair of wales extending along opposing walls of the float modules and opposing edges of the deck. Compression rods extend between the wales and act on the pair of wales such that the compression rods exert compression force on the float modules and deck. A compression beam or plywood panel extends between the opposing walls of the container below the compression rod to create a box beam in combination with the wales and deck, therefore rigidifying the dock to enhance its portability on land and wave resistance properties in water. The float modules are spaced apart longitudinally of the dock to allow wave transparency and wash space for debris. The space betwen the deck and float modules forms a passageway for utility conduits.
