Since the fastening member forms the shape of the trumpet when the fastening leading end portion or the fastening tail end portion expands the diameter, at least one of the fastening leading end portion and the fastening tail end portion expands or reduces the diameter in the circumferential direction uniformly, and the contact pressure by which the cylindrical small-diameter portion comes into pressure contact with the other part becomes uniform in the circumferential direction, so that the cylindrical small-diameter portion can be stably built in the other part.

    摘要: A power transmission device includes a housing, first and second shafts and a generally tubular boot. The housing has an aperture that at least the first shaft passes through. The first and second shafts are coupled together through a splined connection causing the shafts to rotate with one another while allowing axial translation between the shafts. The boot includes a first end engaged with the first shaft and a second end engaged with the second shaft. The first end of the boot includes a flange having an insert located therein. A portion of the first end biasedly engages the first shaft thereby eliminating the need for a clamp previously required.

    摘要: A boot for a constant velocity universal joint includes a minor-diameter cylinder, a major-diameter cylinder, and a bellows. The major-diameter cylinder includes a sealing protrusion rim, a plurality of flanges, and positioning protrusions. The sealing protrusion rim is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the major-diameter cylinder. The flanges are disposed at intervals in a peripheral direction of the major-diameter cylinder, and extend axially outward from an opposite end surface of the major-diameter cylinder. The positioning protrusions protrude from the flanges radially toward an inner peripheral side of the major-diameter cylinder, and are to be engaged with concavities formed in an outer peripheral surface of the mating member. The boot maintains the sealing ability high, and at the same time can reduce the resistance during its fitting around a mating member, and can furthermore produce a fitting completion feeling when the fitting is completed.

    摘要: A boot fitting structure is fitted onto an axial component to protect it from a dirty environment including outside dust. The boot has a pair of annular grooves and an annular lip between the pair of annular grooves on an inner surface of the boot. The annular lip does not project from an inner surface toward a centerline of the boot. An annular protuberance is provided between the boot and a clamp, through which clamping force from the clamp is concentrated on the annular lip, so that the annular lip is elastically deformed and pushed toward outside of the axial component. Therefore, the axial component can be inserted into the boot without interference between the annular lip and the axial component. Furthermore, the annular lip is free from damage by interference between the annular lip and the axial component.
