摘要: Snowboards and splitboards having a contact length less than or equal to 65% of the length of the snowboard or a contact length equal to or less than half the length of the snowboard are disclosed. In some embodiments, a peak of a cambered section is aligned with a horizontal midline of the snowboard. In other embodiments, a peak of a cambered section is aft of a horizontal midline of the snowboard. Optional features of the snowboards and splitboards include bi-lobed tips, bi-lobed tails, touring tails and/or dual recurved tails.

摘要: A gliding apparatus for use in snow is provided. The gliding apparatus may include a riding platform, the riding platform having a top surface to support a rider's feet and a bottom surface. The gliding apparatus may also include a snow ski, a first mounting device and a second mounting device, each positioned between the riding platform and the snow ski and each having a top portion and a bottom portion. The bottom portion of the first mounting device is pivotably coupled about a first axis to the snow ski and the bottom portion of the second mounting device is pivotably coupled about a second axis to the snow ski. The top portion of the first mounting device is pivotably coupled to the riding platform about a third axis and the top portion of the second mounting device is pivotably coupled to the riding platform about a fourth axis.

摘要: A mechanically propelled snowboard for recreational enjoyment includes a board and a propulsion assembly. A pair of bindings that is coupled to the upper face of the board is configured to couple to feet of a user. The propulsion assembly is coupled to a frame that is coupled to the board and extends from an upper face proximate to a tail section of the board. The propulsion assembly comprises an engine, a pair of wheels, one of which is operationally coupled to the engine, and an endless track that is operationally coupled to the pair of wheels. A lower limit of the endless track is substantially coplanar with a lower face of the board. The engine is positioned to rotate the endless track to propel the board along a surface. A controller is operationally coupled to the engine and is positioned to selectively throttle, brake, and shift the engine.

摘要: A foldable recreational board that can be formed into a ridable board for riding and then folded when finished for easy transportation or storage. The foldable recreational board has foam sections covered by a flexible skin. The flexible skin includes a closing and opening mechanism. When the closing and opening mechanism is closed the skin is held very tight around the foam sections so that the foam sections are squeezed together tightly to form a ridable board. When the closing and opening mechanism is opened, pressure is released from the foam sections and the recreational board can be folded. In a preferred embodiment there are three foam sections and the opening and closing mechanism is two zippers attached to a ½ inch thick flexible neoprene skin.

摘要: The present invention contemplates a binding system for a snowboards and the like. The system includes a soft-soled boot having a hardened exterior shell consisting of a toe portion and a heel portion, which are linked by at least one sidewall portion. The toe and heel portions include two toe and two heel pegs respectively. The boot includes an instep portion having instep cables for adjusting the boot to the wearer and the cables are adjusted by grommets and tightened in position by at least one resting bar. The binding has a base plate for connecting to the snowboard. The base plate further supports a pair of toe hooks adapted to engage the toe pegs and a pair of heel peg levers adapted to releasably engage the heel pegs of the boot. A grappling hook and ratchet mechanism grabs the resting bar on the boot.

The first attachment portion and the second attachment portion can be configured to engage to prevent splitboard skis from moving up and down relative to each other, from moving apart in a direction perpendicular to a seam of the splitboard, from sliding relative to each other in a direction parallel to the seam, and from rotating about the seam of the splitboard.
