The present invention provides a technology capable of measuring three-dimensional shapes by applying a stereo method even in the case that an object has a specular surface. A shape measuring apparatus 1 is equipped with a pattern position specification section 20 (before-movement pattern position specification section, after-movement pattern position specification section), an image capturing position calculation section 30 (before-movement image capturing position calculation section, after-movement image capturing calculation section), a pixel area specification section 40 (second pixel area specification section), an inclination angle calculation section 50 (before-movement inclination angle calculation section, after-movement inclination angle calculation section), a height-direction coordinate determination section 60, and an output section 80.

A method for automatically detecting and adjusting the position of a plurality of burners with respect to the edge of a continuous glass sheet is provided. The glass sheet is transported by rolls along the length of a thermal treatment lehr. Detecting and adjusting sensors for sensing the edge of the glass sheet are attached conjointly with the burners in order to automatically adjust the position of the burners with regards to the edge of the glass sheet, so, for each variation in the width of the glass sheet, the detecting and adjusting sensors are advanced or retracted over the edge of the glass sheet, in order to adjust the burners in accordance with a new position of the edge of said glass sheet.
摘要:
A forced convection heating apparatus and process for heating glass sheets therewithin. The apparatus includes at least one gas burner for producing hot combustion gases which is to be distributed to the top and/or bottom surfaces of a glass sheet within the apparatus housing. Spent hot working fluid, which has impinged the top and bottom surfaces of the glass sheet, is drawn into a mixing chamber operably positioned about a gas burner. The spent hot working fluid and newly produced hot combustion gases from the gas burner are mixed within the mixing chamber and then distributed toward and into operable contact with at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of the glass sheet.

A glass sheet annealing ring includes an insulating ring juxtaposed the inboard periphery of the annealing ring for reducing the cooling rate of the glass sheet in proximity to the insulating ring thereby reducing the magnitude of net inner band tension while maintaining edge compression as the glass sheet is cooled.

A furnace for heating glass sheets moving along the axis of the furnace has at least one differentiated heating cell, the heating elements of which disposed at the vault side are constituted of sets of electrical resistors controlled in temperature or in power and adjustable in height independently for each set. A portion of the electrical resistors are mounted parallel to the axis of the furnace, the other heating cells each constituting a longitudinal heating zone independent of the other longitudinal zones and having, at the vault side, heating elements composed of sets of electrical resistors subdivided into several independent transverse sub-zones, in which the electrical resistors are mounted perpendicularly to the axis of the furnace. The invention is applicable to the manufacture of curved and toughened panes.

A method and an apparatus in a glass sheet bending furnace are disclosed for preventing the deflection of a mould wagon bearing rail as the mould wagon is carried along a conveyor track made up of rollers on which the bearing rails rest, wherein the furnace includes a top array of successive heating sections and a bottom array of successive cooling sections. Deflection of the bearing rails is prevented by blasting cooling air to the top surfaces of the bearing rails in a cooling section of the furnace.

The invention concerns the use of a convexing/tempering installation for the manufacture of flat sheet glass or, in general, of glass not bent into convex shape on said installation. It proposes passing glass plates are passed through a conventional convexing/tempering installation, omitting the convexing operation, providing additional heating in the space initially set aside for convexing and/or modifying the tempering conditions initially provided for glass bent into convex shape in said installation. It makes it possible to take advantage of a given convexing/tempering installation for manufacturing tempered flat sheet glass or for heating glass plates with a view to having them bent into convex shape in another installation.

A method and apparatus for the transfer of pane objects such as glass comprises a conveyor along which the pane is accelerated past the downstream end of the conveyor. As the pane leaves the conveyor, it is received by a device which is aligned substantially parallel to the trajectory of the path of the pane. The device receives the pane, and transfers it to the next work station.

The apparatus includes a plurality of extruders which feed parallel streams or ribbons of raw material or charge along rollers through successive chambers in a kiln and through an annealing lehr to zones where the material is cut. The surfaces of the raw material are coated on three sides with a parting or releasing agent and, on the side to be exposed, with a glaze or engobe, or left uncoated. The firing chamber of the kiln has opposed rows of fuel burners on the sides directed toward ports on the other side and refractory rollers which protrude through the side walls and are supported on circumferentially spaced wheels. Wheels between adjacent ends synchronize rotation of the rollers. Manifolds feed the stack gases from the firing chamber into the preheating chamber. The process includes using charges which are either a mixture of a small amount of soluble carbonaceous material and water to adjust the carbon and moisture content of the clay or silica with carbonaceous material and water. If the charge is clay, it is then extruded as ribbons, coated with releasing agent and glaze or engobe, then dried, preheated, sintered, fired at above about 2000.degree. F. and annealed. Cellulated vitreous clay product results which is cut into rectangular blocks. If the charge is silica, no annealing is required and normally a glaze formed by silica sand may be applied to a surface thereof. The silica charge is produced by processing simultaneously the silica charge and a material to form a plate rather than being extruded, successive plates being passed through the kiln to cellulate and vertrify. Consumable, sectional trays are also disclosed.
