摘要: A glass substrate comprises: a first position, wherein a tensile stress of the glass substrate is insufficient to cause fragmentation of the glass substrate into small pieces upon fracture of the glass substrate; and a second position, wherein the glass substrate is bent relative to the first position, and wherein the tensile stress of the glass substrate is sufficient to cause fragmentation of the glass substrate into small pieces upon fracture of the glass substrate. The glass substrate can include a first surface and a second surface. In the first position, the first surface and the second surface of the glass substrate can be planar. In the second position, the first surface and the second surface of the glass substrate can be planar. The small pieces can be generally cubic. In the second position, the glass substrate can be bent uniaxially along a bend axis of the glass substrate.

摘要: A device for annealing glass panes includes rollers for transporting the glass panes and two sets of slit-shaped nozzles, which run parallel to the axes of the rollers and from which cooling air can be directed onto both sides of the glass panes. In the device, cooling air acts as effectively as possible on the two surfaces of the glass pane, and anisotropies and stresses within the glass are reduced. This can be achieved by each nozzle being formed as a continuous flow channel, which extends over the width of the glass panes and on both parallel running sides of which partitions are arranged, for the forming of a flow pocket assigned to this flow channel. The cooling air that comes back from the glass panes is returned between this flow channel and the associated partitions.

摘要: In a method for tempering a glass sheet, based on identified glass sheet properties, a tempering furnace temperature and/or glass sheet heating time are adjusted, the blowing pressure and/or distance of cooling unit air jets are adjusted, the glass sheet is heated in a tempering furnace, the achieved temperature is thereafter measured from the glass sheet surface, and the glass sheet is cooled. The development of the thickness direction temperature profile of the sheet during the tempering cooling is calculated, the residual stress profile achieved in the glass sheet during tempering is calculated, a reference variable for the glass sheet tempering level is selected and the selected reference variable is compared to a predetermined threshold value. If the comparison between the reference variable and the threshold value fulfils a predetermined criterion, an alarm is created and/or the glass sheet is found not to qualify as safety glass.

Furthermore, each support member is configured to contact a respective inner portion of the glass sheet to support the respective inner portion of the glass sheet until the glass sheet has been sufficiently cooled.
