Abstract: Systems and methods are described for embodiments of a mobile virtualization platform (MVP) that may be embedded in an end user mobile device or comprise part of the firmware loaded on the device. Abstract: A method for delivering to a user a dedicated service restricted to a predefined service area includes, performing an access request to a dedicated service. The dedicated service is delivered from a server through a data network between a user device and the server. The method also includes determining a service profile associated with the user, and assigning to the user device a dedicated communication channel for the dedicated service. The method further includes starting a communication session with the server through the data network according to the assigned dedicated communication channel, and performing an authentication request to the server. If the service authenticates the user successfully, the position of the user is obtained, and the dedicated service is delivered to the user device.

Abstract: Devices and associated methods for operating a dual-subscriber identity module (SIM) dual-standby (DSDS) user equipment device (UE) configured with a first SIM and a second SIM. The UE performs communications with a first cellular network using the first SIM and a first radio resource control (RRC) connection, and receives a request to perform a higher priority communication using the second SIM. In response to the request to perform the higher priority communication, the UE transmits a request to the first network to suspend the first RRC connection. After transmission of the request to suspend the first RRC connection, the UE receives a message from the first network to place the first RRC connection in an inactive state, and initiates a timer, wherein the timer is used to determine whether the first RRC connection remains in the inactive state or transitions to an idle state.

Abstract: A soft card provisioning application is instantiated on a device with wireless communications capabilities. A card number for a soft card desired to be provisioned on the device is obtained from a user of the device. An issuer identification number retrieved from the card number is communicated to a provisioning configuration server over an air interface. A provisioning issuer server network address is obtained from the provisioning configuration server based on the issuer identification number. Card issuer specific challenges are presented to the user, and the user's responses to the challenges are received. The challenge responses are communicated to the provisioning issuer server. Soft card image data and personalization data, where the personalization data includes personalized embossed and pre-printed data, are received from the provisioning issuer server over the air interface. The soft card is provisioned for use on the device based on the data received over the air interface.

For example, a computing device comprises a personalized entity repository having fixed sets of entities from an entity repository stored at a server, a processor, and memory storing instructions that cause the computing device to identify fixed sets of entities that are relevant to a user based on context associated with the computing device, rank the fixed sets by relevancy, and update the personalized entity repository using selected sets determined based on the rank and on set usage parameters applicable to the user. In another example, a method includes generating fixed sets of entities from an entity repository, including location-based sets and topic-based sets, and providing a subset of the fixed sets to a client, the client requesting the subset based on the client's location and on items identified in content generated for display on the client.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a new action request is received by the data manager from any of the plurality of users and stored in the data store. The data manager provides multiple actions requests to at least some of the plurality of users and, thereafter, receives responses from responsive users. The data manager then stores the responses (optionally, with a time stamp) in the data store in a manner such that the responses are associated with corresponding ones of the responsive users. In response to receiving a request for information regarding the responses, the data manager can generate the requested information, which may comprise aggregated or individual data, and provide such information to a requesting user. The request for information may include geographic boundaries to be used in providing the requested information. In a preferred embodiment, the geographic boundaries may correspond to one or more electoral districts.
