    Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for non-cellular wireless access. In an embodiment, a method for non-cell grid based radio access in a radio access network includes determining, by a controller, a group of transmit points (TPs) to assign to a logical entity; assigning, by the controller, a logical entity identifier (ID) to the logical entity, wherein the logical entity ID identifies the logical entity through which a user equipment (UE) communicates with the radio access network; and causing, by the controller, at least one of the TPs in the logical entity to send signals to the UE.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for sending and receiving a signal, and relate to the field of wireless communication, where a quantity of pilots does not increase with increasing paired data streams of an MU-MIMO system, and overheads of the pilots are fixed. The method includes: determining, by a transmitter, a transmitting precoding vector of a primary pilot signal of a first receiver and an estimated receiving filtering vector; determining a transmitting precoding vector of a secondary pilot signal of the first receiver; determining a to-be-sent primary pilot signal, to-be-sent user data of the first receiver, and a to-be-sent secondary pilot signal; and sending the first receiver the to-be-sent primary pilot signal, the to-be-sent user data of the first receiver, and the to-be-sent secondary pilot signal.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a pilot signal generation method and apparatus, so as to implement sharing of one pilot by multiple UEs when it is ensured that each of the multiple UEs can correctly obtain a data stream, thereby reducing pilot overheads. The method includes: determining a first pilot signal shared by multiple UEs, where the multiple UEs are multiple UEs transmitting data streams on a same time-frequency resource; determining a pilot precoding vector of first UE and a data stream receiving gain of the first UE according to current downlink channel information of the multiple UEs, where the first UE is one of the multiple UEs; and generating, according to the first pilot signal, the data stream receiving gain of the first UE, and the pilot precoding vector of the first UE, a second pilot signal that is to be sent to the first UE.

    Abstract: An OFDM signal may include a first edge band signal corresponding to a first edge band of the bandwidth of the OFDM signal, a second edge band signal corresponding to a second edge band of the bandwidth, and a center band signal corresponding to a center band of the bandwidth. The OFDM signal may be filtered by filtering the first edge band signal and/or the second edge band signal, so that out-of-band radiation of the OFDM may be reduced or eliminated.
