Abstract:
A standardized system for developing hardware platforms and operating systems for computer systems. The system comprises: (1) a first standardized protocol for developing hardware platforms, wherein the first standardized protocol requires each hardware platform to include a bios program having: a first system for setting up a plurality of control features on the hardware platform; and a second system for collecting a standardized set of abstraction information and storing the abstraction information in a standardized format; and (2) a second standardized protocol for developing operating systems, wherein the second standardized protocol: requires each operating system to include an interface call to obtain the abstraction information in the standardized format; and requires each operating system to be operational on a target hardware platform with the abstraction information.
Abstract:
An augmented reality system includes a video source, and a database. The video source resides at a location and produces an image. At least one encoded marker resides within the image. A marker detector is coupled to the video source and is adapted to derive encoded data from the marker residing within the image. A localization processor is adapted to receive data from the marker detector and to generate data regarding location and orientation of the marker. The localization processor retrieves information from the database that is related to the location and orientation of the marker. The localization processor makes the information retrieved from the database available to a user.
Abstract:
A new cellulose excipient suitable for use as a binder, filler, and/or disintegrant in the development of solid dosage forms and as a bodying agent or a drug carrier in the preparation of topical formulations is described. The cellulose excipient is formed by soaking a source of cellulose in an aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution. The cellulose is then regenerated, washed, and optionally hydrolyzed with a dilute mineral acid. The cellulose excipient is also useful as an aqueous dispersion in topical formulations and in the manufacture of cellulose beads.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method, system and computer program product for enabling the remote authentication of fingerprints over an insecure network using a client-server architecture by generation of a set of random queries relating to fingerprint patterns based on stored fingerprint data at the server, to which the client responds based on the observed fingerprint patterns, followed by the issuing of a randomly generates set of challenges pertaining to geometrical relationships between the fingerprint patterns for which confirm responses are received by their server, the final authentication being determined by the proportion of correct responses by the client to said challenges.
Abstract:
A method and system for computer assisted site navigation includes capturing an image of a scene for providing real-time image data, calibrating a camera and localizing the image by utilizing the image data and retrieved marker registration and floor-map data for providing position and orientation data, transmitting the data to a web server, utilizing the image data and information on the scene retrieved from a database for deriving an augmented view, and displaying the augmented view.
Abstract:
The present invention is related to the development of a new and chromosomally distinct vegetatively propagated frost resisted plant of Cymbopogon flexuosus by genetic selection in open pollinated seed progeny of high yielding variety ‘Cauvery’. The selected plant with stay-green habit withstands prolonged frosting in chilling winter and capable of giving an additional harvest during winter, which is not observed so far in normal varieties.
Abstract:
The invention provides a novel half-sib damask rose progeny christened as ‘Ranisahiba’ and characterized by its doubled per se oil content and oil yield, high flower biomass with synchronous flowering and firmly fixed morphophysiological plant-traits.
Abstract:
A means and method for manufacturing palatable drug granules using a polymer having at least one free carboxyl group and PVP is described. This is achieved by (1) dissolving/suspending a drug in an aqueous solution of polymers and subsequently adjusting the pH of the solution to an acidic pH or (2) suspending a drug in an organic solution of one of the aforementioned polymers and then adding the other polymer solution, with constant agitation. The polymers form a complex and consequently entraps the drug and produce palatable drug granules that are suitable for preparing sustained release pharmaceutical dosage forms (powders, suspension, tablets, chewable tablets).
