摘要: A serial recording apparatus in accordance with the present invention appropriately selects ink nozzles of an ink head and prints on a sheet so that the amount of printing is substantially equal to an ordinary amount, when an inadequate amount of sheet feed occurs, and then, selects the ink nozzles of the ink head in accordance with how the inadequate amount of sheet feed is so as to carry out the next printing. This avoids that the inadequate sheet feedings are accumulated in the succeeding printings. Accordingly, even when a plurality of inadequate sheet feedings occur during the printings with respect to a single sheet, the inadequate sheet feedings are not accumulated, thereby avoiding that the quality of the printing deteriorates. Thus, it is possible to provide a serial recording apparatus which can resolve the inadequate printing by detecting the amount of sheet feed for each feeding, determining the print area in accordance with each amount of sheet feed, and carrying out the printing.

摘要: An alternator is provided having a pulley mounted on a rotating shaft of a rotor through a one-way clutch which transmits a driving power to the rotor during acceleration of a crankshaft and does not transmit the driving power to the rotor during deceleration of the crankshaft. The rotor has a plurality of magnetic poles surrounding a field coil, and an alternator control mechanism supplies a predetermined exciting current to the field coil upon sensing engine stop. Noise from the alternator is prevented by reducing the rotating period of the alternator rotor during an engine stop while preventing early breakage or slip noise of the belt during ordinary vehicle driving.

摘要: An optical scanning apparatus for optically scanning a surface to be scanned at a constant velocity includes a light source for emitting a light flux, a first optical lens system for coupling the light flux emitted by the light source to a subsequent optical lens system, a second optical lens system for forming the light flux received from the first optical lens system into a line image extending in a direction corresponding to a main scanning direction for the surface to be scanned, an optical deflector for deflecting the light flux formed as the line image via a deflecting reflective plane thereof, which is located near where the line image is formed, and a third optical lens system for condensing the deflected light flux as an optical beam spot on the surface to be scanned. The second optical lens system includes at least one plastic lens and one glass lens, and a surface of the at least one plastic lens of the second optical lens system is configured such that a change in a curvature of field in directions corresponding to the main scanning direction and the sub scanning direction, respectively, which is caused by a change in the plastic lens of the third optical lens system due to changes in an operating temperature, is corrected and compensated.

摘要: An optical scanning apparatus reduces shading and variations in light intensity and significantly increases light usage during an optical scanning process using a simple construction in which a laser beam from a light source is deflected by a light deflector having a reflective surface and is focused to a spot upon a scanning surface by a scanning lens to thereby perform optical scanning. The light source is arranged to produce a laser beam which includes both P-polarized light and S-polarized light. A direction of polarization of the light source is inclined in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis with respect to both the deflecting direction (the Y-axis direction) and a direction perpendicular to the deflecting direction (Z-axis direction). The laser beam impinges upon the reflective surface as polarized light which is between P-polarized light and S-polarized light, such that shading is minimized and variations in light intensity are significantly reduced and light usage is greatly increased during the optical scanning process.

摘要: A multi-beam scanning device includes a plurality of light sources which emit multiple beams. A plurality of coupling lenses couple the multiple beams from the light sources. A converging lens device converts the coupled beams into converging beams, the converging beams being elongated in a direction corresponding to a main scanning direction and converging only in a direction corresponding to a sub-scanning direction, at least two of the converging beams forming a difference angle therebetween. A rotary deflector has a reflection surface rotated about a fixed rotation axis. The reflection surface deflects the converging beams while the reflection surface is rotated. A scanning lens device scans an image surface in the main scanning direction at a substantially uniform velocity by focusing each deflected beam into a beam spot on the image surface. The multi-beam scanning device is configured to satisfy desired conditions to allow the multi-beam scanning device to achieve excellent optical characteristics without using a polarization beam splitter. Further, an image forming system and method which uses such a multi-beam scanning device is provided.

摘要: An absolute encoder for detecting the absolute (as opposed to the relative) rotational displacement of an encoder shaft includes a pair of pitch signals recorded on tracks and an associated signal processing circuit. The pair of pitch signals have different periods (wave lengths) which are such that they have no common factors. The signal processing circuit includes magnetic sensors for producing absolute position data indicative of the degree of displacement of the encoder shaft, on the basis of the pitch signals. Through the use of a pair of pitch signals having periods with no common factor, a high degree of resolution is obtained, without having no significantly increase the number of pitch signal tracks.

摘要: In constructoin of a magnetic recording medium provided with one circular track for magnetic graduations and another circular track for standard marks, the standard marks are accompanied with specified magnetic identification marks so that discrimination between the standard marks can be fairly done without any influence by the number of the standard marks only by reading them out together with the identification marks. The medium is advantageously used for displacement detectors such as magnetic rotary encoders and magnetic linear scales.

摘要: An improved non-contact type pattern sensor includes a magnetic resistor element arranged facing a pattern track on a recoridng medium having a magnetized pattern in the pattern track. A clearance sensor is arranged to face the pattern track on the recording medium and generates a detection signal as a function of the distance between the clearance sensor and the pattern track. The control unit connected to the clearance sensor generates an output signal which varies as a function of the detection signal. A magnetic field generator connected to the control unit is arranged near the magnetic sensor element and generates a bias magnetic field whose intensity varies as a function of the output signal.
