A suicide-deterring shower curtain for use in a shower stall is disclosed. An optional outer web has a plurality of apertures therethrough, and an inner web includes a plurality of flaps. Each flap corresponds to and substantially covers one of the apertures of the outer web. In use, with the shower curtain suspended proximate the top side thereof in the shower stall, water impacting the inner web rolls off each flap and is prevented from traversing the apertures of the outer web. Yet air may traverse freely through the apertures of the outer web and around the flaps of the inner web. As such, a person wrapped in the shower curtain is unlikely to asphyxiate since air may freely flow through the shower curtain.

Apparatus (10) comprises a removable liner (12) for a shower curtain having a length of loop and hook fasteners (14) such as Velcro affixed to the hem. Additionally, the shower liner (12) comprises a valence-like top element 16 having reinforced eyelets (18) positioned longitudinally along the top side for the attachment of hooks (20) on rods (22) and a mating length of loop and hook fastener (24) positioned along the bottom side for mating to the removable liner (12). The loop and hook fasteners (14), (24) allow the user easy removal and reattachment of the shower liner from the valance-like element. In an alternate construction, the shower liner (12) comprises a removable liner for a shower curtain having a length of loop and hook fasteners (14), (24) affixed to both sides of the hem. The mating valance-like (16) element includes two layers of material. When attached to the valance-like element (16), the lower removable liner (12) is thus affixed on both the interior (30) and exterior (32) sides.
Abstract:
Composite curtains embodying a plurality of rows of pleats located on upper portions of curtain units of curtains include that corresponding fastening members stitched to a front side and reverse side of two side edges of each of the curtain units. A draw pleat tape is located on a reverse side of an upper cover valance of an upper portion of the curtains, and a variable lower hem is located on a lower side of each of the curtain units. Two curtain units or more than two curtain units can be joined together to form curtains of an appropriate width by means of the fastening members. Furthermore, the draw pleat tape can be used to adjust width of the upper cover valance, and the variable lower hem can be used to adjust length of the curtain units, thereby enabling the curtains to match actual width of a variety of windows.
Abstract:
A flexible fabric and screen door covering consisting of bordering materials and one or more flexible screen inner panels. The preferred embodiment will be held in position by the means of a tension rod extending at the top of the doorframe with the ability of adjusting the height by inserting the tension rod in different sleeves at the top of the device. The sides will be held in place by the means of hook and loop attachment to the doorframe. The width may be adjusted by the means of snaps on the sides that when snapped together will pleat the sides, reducing the width while the length can be adjusted at the top or bottom. An alternate embodiment of the fabric and screen door covering will be able to roll up being attached to the wall surface above the door with a variety of different bracket means and having several different decorative coverings.
