Abstract:
A patient transfer apparatus of the present invention is configured in that a top movable board of a patient movable bed is easily movable onto a patient bed mattress by using a transfer arm and a wheeled chassis moving on the transfer arm, so as to cause minimum inconveniences to a patient and allow for a transfer with ease when the patient who is not able to move freely is transferred between the patient bed and the patient movable bed. In addition, a linkage device is installed beneath the top movable board to easily incline the top movable board toward the body of the patient. Therefore, the patient can be taken onto or removed from the patient movable bed merely by lying on his/her side from the posture of lying on his/her back, thereby minimizing inconvenience to the patient caused by a patient transfer, and enabling the patient transfer to be easily performed with a smaller number of people. Further, the patient transfer apparatus of the present invention eliminates the necessity of external power source for patient transfer, and has the advantages of a simple configuration and reduced cost.
Abstract:
The apparatus of the present disclosure is an improvement on known wheelchairs and other known devices for transporting elderly, infirm, injured, handicapped, disabled, or otherwise mobility-impaired individuals. The present disclosure provides a seat that is adjustable in both height and tilt angle for easy loading and unloading. In some embodiments, the height adjustment is provided via a hydraulic lift cart. Further provided are adjustable horizontal leg supports. A non-confining cage of substantially vertical support bars surrounds the occupant, and straps may be attached around the support bars. This provides support without causing the occupant to feel strapped down and confined to the device. Removing the straps allows easy loading and unloading from whichever side of the apparatus is most convenient.
Abstract:
A multi-terrain motorized wheelchair apparatus is disclosed that comprises a seating assembly for supporting a user in a seated position, a track assembly with the seating assembly being pivotable with respect to the track assembly. The track assembly includes a pair of track units positioned on opposite sides of the seating assembly. The apparatus comprises a seating orientation adjustment assembly configured to adjust an orientation of the seating assembly with respect to the track assembly. The apparatus includes at least one drive assembly mounted on the seating assembly and which has at least one drive shaft structure connected to the track units to drive the track units. The seating assembly is supported on the track units of the track assembly by the drive shaft structure.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention comprises a multi-functional patient transfer device for transferring mobility-impaired patients. In one embodiment, the multi-functional patient transfer device includes a lift cart and one or more lift components. The lift components may attach to the lift cart and/or other lift components. The lift components may include frontal bars, a tabletop, a central arm, lifting forks, a hoist, a knee blocker, footrests, a transfer chair, detachable handles, and/or safety cushions. Embodiments of the present invention may include one or more patient interfaces. The patient interfaces may attach to the lift cart and/or one or more lifting components. The patient interfaces may include slings, chairs, straps, harnesses, and/or transfer sheets. In one embodiment, the patient interfaces may include foldable panels. In one embodiment, the patient interfaces may include a buttock/link support. Example embodiments of methods of the present invention may include frontal transfers, lateral seated transfers, lateral bed transfers, and sit-to-stand transitions.
Abstract:
The inflatable air mattress is placed on top of a conventional mattress, and is retained in place by straps that are secured to the bed frame. In the preferred embodiment, the inflatable air mattress includes a pair of identical chambers, the chambers being of rectangular shape and separated by a hinge line. Each chamber is divided into several, parallel cells, and a separate air pump is connected to each chamber. When energized, the pump forces pressurized air into the chamber and rapidly fills same. As the chamber is filled, it expands and is capable of rotating a patient positioned thereon, through a 90° arc of motion. With the intervention of a health care worker, or a nurse, the patient may then be rolled over from his front to his back, or vice versa.
Abstract:
A transferring device for a bed, placed on a bed plate, on top of or below a mattress, comprises a first inflatable bag; placed on the bed plate and having in an inflated state a triangular shape, with a inner and outer edges having different heights; a second inflatable bag; placed on the first inflatable bag and having in an inflated state a triangular shape, with a inner and outer edges having different heights; and a compressor for inflating and deflating the first and second inflatable bags.
Abstract:
A transferring device for a bed, placed on a bed plate, on top of or below a mattress, comprises inner and outer inflatable bags. Both inner and outer inflatable bag are placed on said bed plate, are shaped like a comb and each have a main inflatable bag and several auxiliary inner inflatable bags which are connected with each other, while being spatially separated from each other by gaps. By inflating and deflating the inner and outer inflatable bags, a patient is easily moved on the bed plate as well as transferred onto or from the bed plate.
Abstract:
An inflatable lifting cushion for an articulated chair including a five-sided polygon capable that is longitudinally aligned on the seat and back of the chair. The cushion includes triangular side walls and at least one interior plenum having an air inlet port enabling air to enter and exit the plenum. A system for transferring a patient is provided including an articulated chair having a back and seat that are arranged to cooperate with one another for movement between an upright position and a reclining position. An inflatable lifting cushion is longitudinally positioned upon the back and the seat of the articulated chair. The inflatable lifting cushion comprises a five-sided polygon including triangular side walls and at least one interior plenum having an air inlet port enabling air to enter and exit the plenum. Another a system for transferring a patient is provided that includes an articulated chair having a back and seat that are arranged to cooperate with one another for movement between an upright position and a reclining position. An inflatable lifting cushion is longitudinally positioned upon the back and the seat of the articulated chair. The inflatable lifting cushion comprises a five-sided polygon including triangular side walls and at least one interior plenum having an air inlet port enabling air to enter and exit the plenum. A transfer mattress is positioned upon the lifting cushion for movement of a patient onto an adjacent bed.
Abstract:
A medical sanitary multifunctional system bed is provided for nursing, having necessary functions that can be added optionally according to clinical conditions of users. The optional addition of functions allows the medical sanitary multifunctional system bed to perform necessary functions, on a case-by-case basis, thereby minimizing the economic burden imposed on patients. Ordinarily, the bed includes a lower capsule, supported by a metallic support frame, an upper capsule mounted on the lower capsule, a movable and rotatable portion, which is supported by the metallic support frame, and a plurality of removable cushions placed on the movable portion. On a optional basis, the bed may include a stool, a bathtub, a shower, and additional washers.
