Abstract: A method and arrangement for aligning plates is provided. The plates are arranged substantially end to end and have a first and second side, the sides being parallel and arranged on opposite sides, and a front side and rear side, where the sides delimit a plate area, During transport, the rear side of a first plate is adjacent the front side of a subsequent plate. The plants have a propelling means along the first side for engaging and propelling the plates and an aligner arranged along the second sides, where the aligner, is moved orthogonal to from a first position where the aligner is not in contact with the plates to a second position where the aligner is in contact with at least two adjacent plates, and the contact aligns the second sides of adjacent plates, such that the plates are arranged with the second sides along a straight line.

Abstract: An optimization bench for glass plates is configured to move the plates in a longitudinal direction of the bench in order to arrange the plates in positions suitable to achieve optimal occupation of the available area on the bench. The bench includes a plurality of belt conveyors parallel to each other, selectively driven by motor means through a plurality of electrically operated clutches which are respectively associated with the belt conveyors. An electronic controller is configured to convey each plate by activating only the belt conveyors on which the plate rests, until all plates are arranged in an optimized manner on the bench area.

Abstract: An apparatus for loading and accumulating semi-finished plate-like pieces, in particular lenses, includes a support structure and a piece warehouse which is associated with the support structure for moving the pieces from a piece inlet portion to a piece outlet portion along a warehouse axis. The warehouse includes augers extending parallel to the warehouse axis along respective longitudinal axes and are arranged around the warehouse axis to jointly delimit transverse seats with respect to the warehouse axis. Each seat accommodates a semi-finished plate-like piece. A system coordinates positioning of the augers for varying a distance of each auger from the warehouse axis to vary a radial dimension of the transverse seats. A system rotates each auger around the relevant longitudinal axis in a synchronized manner to cause movement of the pieces parallel to the warehouse axis from the inlet portion to the outlet portion.

Abstract: A plate delivery system provides storage for plates in a first-in, last-out configuration. As the kitchen staff completes a meal (plated), the plate is presented to a staging area of the plate delivery system. The plate is moved into a storage area to be ready for the next plate at the staging area. After a number of plates are stored, the plate delivery system relocates from the kitchen to the eating area (e.g., restaurant table or banquet table) and each plate is sequentially presented by a delivery mechanism (e.g., telescoping arms, a robot, or a waitperson) for delivery to the table. In some embodiments, the plate delivery system is enclosed and has a cover mechanism. In some embodiments, the plate delivery system has telescoping arms with fingers for moving the plate from the staging area to the table.

Abstract: An apparatus for de-stacking sheet metal blanks uses electro-magnetic pulses to separate sheet metal blanks from a stack of blanks. A fixture supports an electromagnetic attraction device that includes one or more multi-turn electrical coils and one or more insulated metal screens. The coil is electrically connected to a bank of capacitors. The metal screen is disposed in an electrical insulation material and is retained by the fixture between the coil and the top blank of the stack of blanks. Suction cups perform the primary lifting function and are connected to a vacuum source. The suction cups may be supported by the same fixture or another associated fixture that cooperates with the coil and insulated screen.
