摘要： A hair styling device is provided for holding hair in place, particularly upsweep styles in the form of twists or French twists. The invention is particularly in the form of a comb with teeth conforming generally to the shape of the head so as to insert into an elongated twist of hair folded against the head. Separately offset arched sections on the teeth provide for insertion of a locking pin which serves to securely hold hair in place without the need for auxiliary anchors such as hairpins and clamps.

摘要： A reciprocating comb comprised of a stationary and a sliding comb member. Both the stationary and sliding comb members consist of elongated rectangular bases having teeth extending therefrom and perpendicular to the orientation of the base. The stationary comb member includes a recess running along the base for accepting the corresponding base of the sliding comb member. In the preferred embodiment, magnets embedded within the elongated base of both the stationary and sliding comb members provide for releasable fastening and automatic reciprocation of the stationary and sliding comb members.

Graft starch copolymer is a blend of the natural polymer, starch, and synthetic polymers such as acrylamide and sodium or potassium acrylate. When used after a shower or after washing ones hair, these shaped articles, molded from graft starch copolymer, in accordance with the method of the present inventon, will absorb essentially all moisture from the hair, upon contact, in a matter of a few minutes.

摘要： A comb includes a hollow frame having a pair of fixed teeth at opposite ends thereof, and a cap having a depending body portion disposed within the hollow interior of the frame. A series of transversely extending open slots in one longitudinally extending side planar face of the body portion receives individually a series of axially rotatable rod-like teeth. Each one of the open slots is four-sided in cross-sectional shape, and the fourth side is open in the plane of the face. The depth of the slots is greater than the thickness of the teeth so that the teeth fit entirely within the slots. In one embodiment of the present invention, the teeth are made by rotating axially rod stock and moving a cutter having the configuration of the desired shape of the teeth into cutting engagement with the rod stock. In another embodiment of the present invention, the teeth are formed from rod stock placed in a cavity having the shape of the body portion of the teeth to be formed, and then moving a die axially into engagement with one end of the rod stock to cause the rod stock to flow into the shape of the desired tooth.

摘要： A novel comb is disclosed comprising a comb back, a comb-teeth module detachably mounted on the comb back, and a case member connected to one end of the comb back for serving as a handle. The comb-teeth module comprises at least one continuous wire wound helically into a plurality of coil-shaped comb tooth elements with each coil-shaped comb tooth element having an upper portion serving as supporting means to be fitted on the comb back and a narrowed and elongated lower portion for combing, wherein the narrowed and elongated lower portion of the comb-teeth module is capped with a removable cap member to normally assume a retracted condition having comb teeth compacted, and adapted to resume an extended condition having comb teeth spaced apart for use after the cap member being removed. The novel comb further comprises a plurality of spare comb-teeth modules arranged inside the case member, and a dispensing mechanism for delivering one of the spare modules to a position for use after the soiled module has been discarded.
