Abstract:
Text summarizers using relevance measurement technologies and latent semantic analysis techniques provide accurate and useful summarization of the contents of text documents. Generic text summaries may be produced by ranking and extracting sentences from original documents; broad coverage of document content and decreased redundancy may simultaneously be achieved by constructing summaries from sentences that are highly ranked and different from each other. In one embodiment, conventional Information Retrieval (IR) technologies may be applied in a unique way to perform the summarization; relevance measurement, sentence selection, and term elimination may be repeated in successive iterations. In another embodiment, a singular value decomposition technique may be applied to a terms-by-sentences matrix such that all the sentences from the document may be projected into the singular vector space; a text summarizer may then select sentences having the largest index values with the most important singular vectors as part of the text summary.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a cable assembly comprising a flexible network access point that includes a flexible cover over a mid-span access location, providing environmental protection for the mid-span access location and facilitating installation of a distribution cable. Subsequent to installation, the mid-span access location is exposed and accessed by pulling a ripcord, for example, thereby removing a portion of the flexible cover. This exposes one or more connectors, which may be single or multi-fiber connectors, that are configured to receive the receptacles of one or more drop cables and/or tethers. Thus, a semi-hardened, selectively-usable closure is provided.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a material decomposition method capable of determining the distribution of density and constituent material concentration throughout an imaged object. The concentration, in the form of a mass fraction, mass percent, weight fraction, or weight percent, is determined from CT images acquired at different energy levels. The ratio of attenuation coefficients associated with one energy level to attenuation coefficients associated with another energy level is determined and used as an index in a lookup table to determine the concentration of a given material throughout the imaged object.
Abstract:
A ruggedized fiber optic connector assembly includes a substantially hollow plug housing; and a glue body disposed within the substantially hollow plug housing; wherein the glue body includes a first portion that is configured to engage and retain an optical cable comprising an optical fiber and one or more strength members; wherein the glue body includes a second portion that is configured to engage and retain a connector sub-assembly comprising an optical ferrule; wherein the second portion of the glue body includes a pair of opposed snap hooks that are configured to engage a corresponding pair of opposed recesses of the connector sub-assembly; and wherein the optical fiber and the optical ferrule are optically coupled.
Abstract:
A system and method for obtaining enhanced production from a well is provided. The system includes a processor that processes instructions contained in a computer program, which includes instructions to monitor actual flow rate of the fluid from each production zone of a well over a time period corresponding to a first setting of the flow control devices and to employ a nodal analysis on a plurality of inputs from downhole sensor measurements, surface sensor measurements, one or more current positions of the devices to determine one or more new settings that will provide enhanced production from the well.
Abstract:
A reduced pin count connection system for an insertable operational systems card having a plurality of input and output signals to a host device having operational circuits responsive to the input and output signals of the card includes a master serial data link in the card for communicating at least a portion of the plurality of input and output signals of the card. A slave serial data link is operably interconnected to the master serial data link through a connector having a second plurality contacts less than the plurality of input and output signals and communicates the input and output signals to the operational circuits in the host device.

Abstract:
An adapter assembly for receiving and maintaining mating fiber optic connectors, comprising an adapter housing defining at least one feature for engaging with at least one plug housing engaged with at least one of the first and second fiber optic connectors, and at least one alignment member maintained within the adapter housing for receiving connective ends of each of the first and second fiber optic connectors. An adapter assembly for receiving and maintaining mating first and second fiber optic connectors, wherein the connectors may be similar or dissimilar and while reducing side load forces through the use of a stabilizing member.
Abstract:
A preconnectorized outdoor cable streamlines the deployment of optical waveguides into the last mile of an optical network. The preconnectorized outdoor cable includes a cable and at least one plug connector. The plug connector is attached to a first end of the cable, thereby connectorizing at least one optical waveguide. The cable has at least one optical waveguide, at least one tensile element, and a cable jacket. Various cable designs such as figure-eight or flat cables may be used with the plug connector. In preferred embodiments, the plug connector includes a crimp assembly having a crimp housing and a crimp band. The crimp housing has two half-shells being held together by the crimp band for securing the at least one tensile element. When fully assembled, the crimp housing fits into a shroud of the preconnectorized cable. The shroud aides in mating the preconnectorized cable with a complimentary receptacle.
Abstract:
A system for controlling an authorization procedure of a task according to a preferred embodiment is provided. The system includes: a database server for storing data about a task to be authorized; and an application server for obtaining basic information of the task to be authorized, configuring an authorization procedure for the task, designating an authorizer for each step of the authorization procedure, and controlling the whole authorization procedure. A related method is also provided.
