    Abstract: Example embodiments are directed to systems and method to facilitate omnichannel retailing. A networked system determines a location of the user device within a store and accesses a map of the store. An item from a list of one or more items is identified, whereby the item has a plurality of locations within the store. A first location of the item from the plurality of locations is selected. The networked system causes display, on a user interface on the user device, of the location of the user device and the first location of the item and causes display of a user interface element that is operable to receive user selection of a different location from the plurality of locations. In response to receiving the user selection, the networked system ceases display of the first location on the map and causes display of the different location on the map.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for improved categorization of queries are disclosed. In one aspect, a search query is received and determined to match a pattern having an uncategorized variable placeholder portion. In response to determining the search query matches the pattern, the pattern is used to identify a first portion of the search query based on the first portion of the search query corresponding to the uncategorized variable placeholder portion of the pattern. The search query is categorized by assigning, to the search query, a category associated with the first portion of the search query. Search results are generated for the search query using the category associated with the first portion of the search query.

    Abstract: A web-based item listing platform provides item listings that users can create or search. Item listings can be generated using structured information extracted while capturing an item listing video of the item. During creation of the item listing video, input prompts are provided to the user that cause a mobile device to provide an input request, such as taking an image of a specific feature of the item or providing some other item description information. During the item listing video, image recognition models may also be employed to determine other item description information, such as the color, the brand, and the like. The item listing can be generated from the item listing video by populating a set of structured data elements associated with an item description type. Each structured data element is populated with the item description information corresponding to the associated item description type.

    Abstract: A computed-implemented method and system for recommending business applications on a network-based marketplace are described. A user's listings, representing items for sale on the marketplace, are harvested to calculate segmentation data and metrics that form a user profile. The user profile is compared with other similar users who have subscribed to various applications, and the impact those applications have had on the metrics of the similar users is calculated in order to determine what impact the applications will have on the user in question. The impact, combined with user preferences, is used to suggest appropriate applications, which are displayed to the user within the marketplace. If the user selects one of the applications, the application is added to the user's profile and relevant listings are updated with the new application.
