Abstract: In an example embodiment, information about a buyer in an ecommerce system is obtained. An unpaid item risk assessment is calculated for the buyer, the unpaid item risk assessment calculating a risk that the buyer will not pay for an item on which the buyer bids. A bid limit is then established based on the unpaid item risk assessment. A bid from the buyer may then later be blocked based on the bid limit.
