Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for beam management with user equipment beam sweeping in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a network node transmits a reference signal for beam management within one occasion, wherein the occasion comprises at least M symbol sets. The network node performs beam sweeping for transmitting the reference signal in a first symbol set of the M symbol sets. The network node repeats the beam sweeping for transmitting the reference signal in the rest of the M symbol sets.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. The first UE establishes a first sidelink Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) for PC5-S message transmission if a unicast link or a PC5-Radio Resource Control (PC5-RRC) connection establishment is initiated, wherein the first sidelink SRB is associated with a default Destination Layer-2 Identity (ID). Also, the first UE transmits a first PC5-S message for the unicast link or the PC5-RRC connection establishment on the first sidelink SRB with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the first UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the default Destination Layer-2 ID. Furthermore, the first UE receives a second PC5-S message from a second UE, wherein the second PC5-S message is transmitted with a Source Layer-2 ID derived from a Layer-2 ID of the second UE and a Destination Layer-2 ID derived from the Layer-2 ID of the first UE. In addition, the first UE establishes a second sidelink SRB for PC5-S message reception and/or transmission, wherein the second sidelink SRB is associated with the Layer-2 ID of the second UE. Furthermore, the first UE establishes a third sidelink SRB for PC5-RRC message transmission if the unicast link or the PC5-RRC connection establishment has been successfully completed, wherein the third sidelink SRB is associated with the Layer-2 ID of the second UE.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for improving beam finding in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes the base station detecting a first preamble transmission from a UE on a beam. The method further includes the base station considering a beam set of the UE is complete if a rule is fulfilled, wherein the beam set of the UE includes beam(s) through which the UE could communicate with the base station.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), if sidelink packet duplication is configured or enabled for a Sidelink Radio Bearer (SLRB), a first Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Unit (PDU), corresponding to a first PDCP Service Data Unit (SDU), and a duplicate of the first PDCP PDU, are transmitted. A first PDCP Sequence Number (SN) of the first PDCP PDU is set based upon one or more state variables used for sidelink transmission on the SLRB. If the sidelink packet duplication is de-configured or disabled for the SLRB, a second PDCP PDU, corresponding to a second PDCP SDU, is transmitted. Noduplicate of the second PDCP PDU is transmitted. A second PDCP SN of the second PDCP PDU is set based upon the one or more state variables used for sidelink transmission on the SLRB.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a first UE (User Equipment) to indicate a network node for releasing SLRB (Sidelink Radio Bearer) or SL-DRB (Sidelink-Data Radio Bearer). In one embodiment, the method includes transmitting a first RRC (Radio Resource Control) message to a network node for requesting sidelink resource, wherein the first RRC message includes a PFI (PC5 QoS Flow Identifier) of a PC5 QoS (Quality of Service) flow in a first list of PC5 QoS flows. The method also includes receiving a second RRC message from the network node, wherein the second RRC message configures a SLRB and maps the PC5 QoS flow to the SLRB. The method further includes transmitting a third RRC message to the network node if the PC5 QoS flow is deactivated or released, wherein the PFI of the PC5 QoS flow is removed from a second list of PC5 QoS flows included in the third RRC message.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses of handling a bandwidth part (BWP) inactivity timer during a Random Access procedure in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment (UE) starts a BWP timer for a serving cell operating in a paired spectrum. The UE initiates a contention-based Random Access (RA) procedure on the serving cell and stops the BWP timer. The UE starts the BWP timer upon successful completion of the RA procedure, wherein the UE considers the contention-based RA procedure successfully completed if a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) addressed to a Cell Network Temporary Identifier (C-RNTI) of the UE is received and the PDCCH contains an uplink grant for a new transmission.
