The picture includes at least the current picture or the reference picture, and the window is subject to a processing rule during the conversion. Abstract: A method for video processing is provided. The method includes determining, for a conversion between a current video block of a video that is a chroma block and a coded representation of the video, multiple sets of parameters, wherein each set of parameters defines a cross-component linear model (CCLM) and is derived from a corresponding group of chroma samples at corresponding chroma sample positions; determining, based on the multiple sets of parameters, parameters for a final CCLM; and performing the conversion based on the final CCLM.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods related to digital video coding, and specifically, to management of syntax flags with respect chroma formats are described. In one representative aspect, the disclosed technology may be used to provide a method for video decoding. The method includes determining a chroma format associated with a region of a video and determining, based on the chroma format, whether one or more syntax flags applicable to the region of the video are included in a syntax structure of a coded representation of the video. The one or more syntax flags are indicative of a joint chroma residual coding step for representing the region in the coded representation. The method also includes generating one or more decoded video blocks of the region by parsing the coded representation according to a presence or an absence of the one or more syntax flags in the coded representation.

Abstract: A method of video processing includes determining, for a conversion between a current block of a video and a bitstream representation of the video using a coding tool that accesses samples outside of the current block, that neighboring samples used for the conversion are unavailable. Samples that are located across a boundary of a video unit of the video are considered as unavailable samples. The method also includes performing, based on the determining, the conversion by padding samples in place of the neighboring samples that are unavailable. The padding samples are determined using samples that are restricted to be within a current processing unit associated with the current block.
