Abstract:
A high capacity magnetic filter for separating magnetic and non-magnetic contaminants from contaminated liquid streams includes a housing having (i) an interior region between the inlet and outlet for a process stream, (ii) a plurality of vertically oriented, elongated non-magnetic holder sleeves positioned within the interior region (iii) paramagnetic metal packing material that is randomly distributed in the interior region to form a packed compartment that has a void volume which is above 95 percent, and (iv) a device to generate a magnetic field within the interior region. Generation of a uniform magnetic field within the packed compartment magnetizes the holder sleeves and matrix of packing materials. The holder sleeves and matrix create a large surface area for collecting the contaminants.
Abstract:
Minimum guaranteed wireless network bandwidth is provided to client network devices by monitoring the performance of network connections to identify client network devices experiencing network congestion. Congested network connections are then analyzed to determine the source of the network congestion. Depending upon the source of the network congestion, an embodiment of the invention may undertake steps to either improve the quality of the network connection or to mitigate the impact of this network connection on other network connections. High quality network connections may be allocated additional bandwidth, airtime, or other resources to reduce the network congestion. Low quality network connections are not allocated additional bandwidth, airtime, or other resources. Instead, the impact of this network connection on the other network connections is mitigated. Additionally, the low quality network connection may be transferred to another wireless networking device that may be able to provide a better quality network connection.
Abstract:
The claimed subject matter provides a method for securing a partner-enabled web service. The method includes receiving a request to access the partner-enabled web service. The request is received from a browser client for a partner application. The browser client is associated with a user. Additionally, the method includes determining that the user is authorized to access the partner application. The method further includes generating a token that associates the user with the partner application. Also, the method includes sending the token to the browser client.
Abstract:
Airtime usage may be used as a factor in controlling network traffic flow to and from client devices via a wireless network interface. Received packets or other data are assigned to a quality of service profile. Additionally, a cost value for communicating the received data is determined at least in part based on an actual or estimated airtime usage for the received packet. The cost value is used to allocate wireless network airtime to data. The allocation of wireless network airtime may be varied dynamically based on operating conditions. The cost value may be based on factors including the airtime used to communicate data; whether the data is a retransmission; and wireless network overhead. The cost value of data may also be different depending on whether the data is being sent from a client device or to a client device.
Abstract:
Various embodiments utilize redirection techniques to refresh an authenticated session for a web-based executable operated across multiple domains. In at least some embodiments, the redirection techniques utilize a hidden inline frame (“i-frame”) to refresh an authenticated session. In some embodiments, polling is utilized to detect the end of a redirection sequence and a refreshed authenticated session while in other embodiments, an authenticated session is assumed to be refreshed after the expiration of a predetermined period of time.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for diverting static electricity away from a treadmill. The apparatus includes a diverting apparatus, consisting of a conducting piece, a conductive strip and a connection bolt. The diverting apparatus is mounted on the surface of the platform without influencing the smooth rotation of the continuous belt for carrying off the static electricity produced by friction within a walking area of the treadmill by providing a direct grounding path through the connection of the other end of the conductive strip to the ground.
Abstract:
A regulating apparatus for a hydraulic cylinder of a treadmill having a rotating knob with an opening formed at a top end thereof and with a neck formed at a bottom end thereof. The periphery of the neck is marked with a plurality of numbers or with colors from light to dark. An annular base includes a ring-shaped gap for dividing it into an internal and external side. The external side has a viewing window extending to the ring-shaped gap. A magnifying glass is received within the viewing window. Moreover, the internal side of the annular base is fixed atop the hydraulic cylinder. In addition, the rotating knob is fixed on the annular base in such a manner that an adjusting post projects from the opening of the regulating knob and the neck is inserted into the ring-shaped gap. Therefore, the number or the color disposed on the neck is visible from the viewing window when the cushioning force of the hydraulic cylinder is adjusted.
Abstract:
An oval-tracked exercise apparatus is provided which includes a main frame having a pair of connecting arms in a hinge joint with a traverse support. The traverse support is coupled with a mechanical system in a pivotal connection with a pair of planks. A resisting rotating mechanism is attached to an opposing end of the respective plank. Besides, an adjusting assembly is provided for adjusting the height of the traverse support. The resisting rotating mechanism formed by a flywheel, a belt wheel or a resistance mechanism includes a continually bent crank and is rotatably mounted on side walls of a base of the resisting rotating mechanism. Accordingly, both handles are synchronically movable with respective planks for simulating a climbing action and an oval exercise track. Moreover, a simulation of a movement on uphill, downhill and flat surfaces can be achieved. Furthermore, a reduction of the distance between both planks is also attainable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an oval-tracked exercise apparatus for simulating hand-movement having two rocker arms and two treadle bars. The bottom end of the rocker arms and the front end of the treadle bars are joined to each other by a pivot. The rear end of the treadle bars is pivotally connected to the side of a rotary body. Both of the treadle bars are movable up and down in an offset position for simulating the movement of hands and feet in an oval track during exercise session. An adjusting mechanism is provided to adjust the angle of the connecting mechanism for simulating a walking exercise on an uphill road or on a downhill road.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an acceleration and displacement sensor having a position signal generator, a signal-detecting and arithmetic unit, a power supper unit and a rolling ball. The position signal generator forms a closed space for defining the movement path of the rolling ball. The position signal generator includes a plurality of sensing terminals aligned to one another in axial direction. Each sensing terminal represents a certain position signal value. The position signal value of the sensing terminal, where the rolling ball is located, will be continuously given to the signal-detecting and arithmetic unit. When the rolling ball is forced to move in axial direction, the signal-detecting and arithmetic unit can calculate different position signal values and obtain their change during a certain time period, thereby determining the displacement distance and the acceleration value.
