    摘要: A fixing device includes a heating element fixedly supported during a fixing procedure, a film, apparatus enabling the film to slide against the heating element, and a pressurizing roller for pressing a recording material on which a toner image is supported against the film. The heating element has a substrate, a heat generating layer provided on the substrate, and a heat-melting portion provided on the substrate. The heat-melting portion melts at a temperature higher than the fixing temperature and lower than the withstanding temperature of the substrate and thereby disconnects the heat generating layer from its power source.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member on which a toner image is formed. The toner image is transferred onto a transfer material by contacting the transfer material to the image bearing member and applying corona discharge to the back side of the transfer material. The present invention is characterized by the charge removing needles to which a particular voltage is applied. The voltage is such that the discharge occurs between the charge removing electrode needles and the back side of the transfer material when it is present, or the surface of the image bearing member when it is absent only when the transfer corona discharger is operated, and therefore, the air surrounding the needles is ionized. Thus, the discharge does not occur when the transfer charger is not operated, but occurs automatically when the transfer charger is operated.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an original illuminating apparatus for use in electrophotographic copying machine, original reader of fascimile equipment, etc. The illumination apparatus includes a transparent member for defining a window through which the original is opposed to the optical system for projecting an image of the original on a photosensitive surface. The transparent member is fixed to and supported by a supporting part. The illumination light emitted from a light source is reflected towards the original so as to illuminate it by the reflected light. According to the present invention, the transparent member supporting part and the light reflecting part are formed integrally with a heat conductive member so that the two parts are thermally connected with each other. A heat pipe is provided to deprive the heat conductive member of heat thereby preventing a rise of temperature of the transparent member.

    摘要: An electrostatic latent image developing method and a device therefor, featured in supplying one-component magnetic developer onto a developer-feeding non-magnetic bearing member to form thereon a magnetic brush of developer under the effect of a magnetic field, then bringing said magnetic brush into contact with the surface of an image-developing developer bearing member to form thereon a thin uniform layer of the developer, and bringing said thin layer to a developing position to develop an electrostatic latent image formed on a latent image bearing member. At the development the thin layer of the developer is so spaced in the developing position from the latent image bearing surface as to form a clearance therebetween, across which an AC bias electric field is applied.
