Abstract:
A trash can with a lid can include a lock for the lid. The lock can include a latch that cooperates with the trash container body to lock the lid over the opening of the body. The latch can be configured to slide with respect to the edge of the opening of the body from an unlocked position to a locked position. This latch can be integrated into, built into or self contained in the lid. The trash can can also include a pedal actuator for opening the lid. The trash can can also include a damping mechanism mounted to the body of the trash can with a mounting plate. The mounting plate can be made from a material that is harder than the material used for the body of the trash can. Additionally, the trash can can have wheels.
Abstract:
A receptacle assembly including a body portion, a lid portion, a pedal portion, a rod, and a motion damper. The body portion includes an upper portion and a base portion and defines an interior space. The lid portion is movably engaged with the body portion and is configured to move between an open position and a closed position. The pedal portion is configured to move the lid portion between the open position and the closed position. A rod extends between the lid portion and the pedal portion. The rod can also interface with the motion damper. The motion damper is positioned near the lid portion and is configured to dampen motion of the rod.
Abstract:
A receptacle having a lid which has a pair of dampers configured to slow the movement of the lid from an open position toward a closed position. The dampers are provided at opposite ends of a pedal connected to the receptacle body at opposite lateral positions relative to a side of the receptacle body. The receptacle includes an air filtration device mounted in its lid which guides air through the filter device during the downward motion of the lid. The receptacle also includes at least one damper which provides dampening forces against the motion of the lid in both opening and closing directions. The receptacle also includes an anti-sliding device which increases the receptacle's resistance to sliding across a floor when a user steps on a pedal to actuate the lid.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments of a trash can include a cap with a lid and an actuator. The actuator can extend outwardly from the cap at a downward angle. The actuator can be configured to maintain the lid in a closed position when a locking portion of the actuator is engaged with a securement portion of the lid. The lid can be rotationally biased toward an open position and the actuator can be configured to release the lid from the closed position upon an input of force on the actuator. The range of effective angles for the input force can enable a user of the trash can to easily open the lid by contacting the actuator with from a wide variety of angles.
Abstract:
A sponge is provided that can include an absorbent layer, a scrubbing layer, and a scrubbing enhancer. The absorbent layer can comprise cellulose. The scrubbing layer can be attached to a surface of the absorbent layer. The scrubbing layer can comprise a plant material and a synthetic material. The scrubbing enhancer can be at least partially disposed within an opening of the scrubbing layer. The scrubbing enhancer can form an at least partially enclosed area. The at least partially enclosed area can be configured to receive soap.
