    摘要: A rotary sprinkler includes a sprinkler body having a center axis and including a nozzle and associated rotor plate for issuing a stream in a substantially radial direction, substantially perpendicular to the axis, and rotating the stream about the center axis; a stream interrupter mounted loosely for eccentric rotation about the center axis, the stream interrupter including an annular ring provided with a plurality of stream deflector fingers, the stream interrupter being driven directly by the stream impinging on the plurality of stream deflector fingers. The rotor plate is formed with a stream emitting groove configured to receive a vertical stream and redirect the stream in the radial direction while also causing the rotor plate to rotate about the center axis. In addition, the groove is profiled to cause the stream to issue from the rotor plate with a primary component and a secondary component diverging from the primary component. This split stream interacts with the stream interrupter to provide greater radius of throw and uniformity characteristics.

    摘要: A rate-of-flow control valve assembly actuable as a function of velocity of fluid in a conduit includes a sensing plate projecting into the conduit, substantially perpendicular to a direction of flow in the conduit and a sleeve valve located downstream of the sensing plate. The sleeve valve includes a substantially cylindrical, flexible rubber sleeve surrounded by a control chamber, and an outer rigid sleeve, the flexible sleeve adapted to vary the flow rate of the fluid through the sleeve valve. Also included is a spool valve controller operatively connected to the sensing plate and in communication with the control chamber in the sleeve valve, the spool valve operable to control the flow of fluid into and out of the control chamber as a function of movement of the sensing plate in the conduit.

    摘要: A frost clip is provided for a rotary sprinkler of the type which includes a sprinkler body, a nozzle for emitting a stream and a rotatable distributor plate adapted to receive and redirect the stream. The frost clip is attachable to the sprinkler body so as to be intermittently engaged by the stream as the distributor plate rotates about its axis of rotation. The frost clip is formed with a channel facing radially towards and extending substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the rotor plate. The channel is constructed and arranged to intermittently deflect the stream back toward the rotor plate and at least a portion of the sprinkler body as the stream rotates past the clip, to thereby inhibit ice buildup on the rotor plate and adjacent sprinkler body portions.

Both assemblies include detachable interengaging connectors for establishing a mechanical connection between the two assemblies by a simple and convenient manual movement. The accessing assembly includes a quick connection fitting for accessing the water under pressure through the pilot pressure valve mechanism which is mounted in a cooperating quick connection fitting. The accessing assembly includes an operating mechanism movable in response to the communication of pilot water under pressure therewith to open the main valve mechanism and provide water pressure rigidification to the mechanical connection between the two assemblies.

    摘要: An assembly as used with a drop tube of a moving irrigation system which allows the operator to convert from conventional spray mode operation to furrow bubbler operation. The assembly includes a pressure regulator for regulating the pressure of water to a relatively low value and having an upper end adapted to be connected in water communicating relation to the drop tube and a spray head connected at its upper end in water communicating relation to the lower end of the pressure regulator. The spray head includes a nozzle for directing a water stream downwardly in a direction to be normally interrupted by a removable splash plate into a spray pattern. A tubular structure is connected at its upper end portion with the spray head in a position to receive all of the water stream directed from the nozzle so as to transmit the same downwardly to the lower end thereof. A bubbler device is carried by the lower end of the tubular structure in a position to receive the water in the lower end thereof and deliver the same at extremely low pressure at a position near ground level.

    摘要: A nozzle assembly for a sprinkler comprising a rigid structure cooperatively receiving a flat resilient flow control washer in a position such that when the water under pressure is communicated with the upstream side of the washer the periphery of the downstream face remains generally in a retained relative radial position while the remainder is distorted axially in the downstream direction an amount which increases progressively in a direction toward the interior opening of the washer.The washer has an annular stream defining surface at the juncture between its interior opening and its upstream side for engaging the water under pressure communicated with the upstream side of the washer and forming the same into a stream issuing through the opening having a cross-sectional area and velocity which vary inversely with respect to one another depending upon the pressure of the water under pressure communicated with the upstream side of the washer so that the water flow rate within the stream is generally constant within an operative range of pressures. The rigid structure includes an upstream projection portion operable to cause the stream defining surface of the washer when distorted as aforesaid to form at least one annular portion which is disposed axially upstream with respect to another annular portion thereof such that one portion of the stream engaged by the one surface portion has a greater radially outward component of movement as compared with another portion of the stream engaged by the other annular surface portion thus resulting in a greater diffusion of the one stream portion with respect to the other stream portion.
