Abstract: An apparatus and a method for testing water absorption of concrete in a direction parallel with load applying direction are provided. The apparatus includes a loading device, a water filling device, and a monitoring device. The loading device includes an upper support plate and a lower support plate connected with the upper support plate via multiple threaded rods, and a space for placing a concrete specimen formed between the upper support plate and the lower support plate. The water filling device includes a water filling cylinder having a side connected with a water supply tank via an inlet pipe, and another side connected with a water storage tank via an outlet pipe. The monitoring device includes a mass sensor arranged under the water storage tank and a strain gauge for detecting change of stress of the concrete specimen.

Abstract: A life-cycle performance intelligent-sensing and degradation warning system and method for concrete structures are disclosed. The warning system comprises a main control module, a multifunctional sensor module, an anti-theft module and a critical warning module. Environmental parameters in concrete are monitored by the multifunctional sensor module, and the remaining service life of a concrete structure is accurately predicted through a life prediction model according to the temperature, humidity, chloride ion concentration and pH at different depths, and a critical chloride ion concentration and a structure stress status that are dynamically obtained. In addition, during warning analysis, a targeted correction method is designed for acquired data, and temperature and pH correction is carried out for real-time monitoring data of the chloride ion sensor to further guarantee the accuracy of monitoring data, such that scientific references are provided for durability evaluation, protection and restoration of the structure.

Abstract: A double-steel tube concrete beam-column joint with internal FRP bar connectors is provided. The double-steel tube concrete beam-column joint includes double-steel tube columns, I-beams, a joint connector, an internal support member and external ring plates. The joint connector includes an internal connecting tube and an external connecting sleeve which are both circular steel tubes. The internal support member is a columnar structure and has two ends regularly formed with bolt holes in a circumferential direction. Each external ring plate comprises a horizontal portion and an annular portion perpendicular to the horizontal portion. Upper and lower double-steel tube columns are connected through the joint connector and the internal support member, the two ends of the internal support member are inserted into an upper internal steel tube and a lower internal steel tube, respectively.

The control box can control and record test parameters in real time, so that the boundary between the tidal zone and the splash zone is clear.

Abstract: A method for assessing a performance-based seismic design by setting a seismic risk starts from the exceedance probability of the performance level. The method is configured to determine the structural performance level by setting an exceedance probability, determine the seismic demand when the performance level is constant, set the exceedance probability of the seismic demand in combination with the seismic risk of a set earthquake to finally determine the ground motion input and establish a novel probabilistic seismic risk assessment method that reaches the performance level. The main control and objective of the design are significantly enhanced by using this method.

Abstract: An active composite variable damping rotational control device includes a variable damping module and a power module. The variable damping module includes a magnetorheological fluid tank and a rotational inertia wheel. The rotational inertia wheel is arranged in the magnetorheological fluid tank fully filled with magneorheological fluid. The power module includes a device tubular cavity, a driver, an encoder and a speed changer. The driver is fixed on the inner wall of the device tubular cavity. The driver, the encoder and the speed changer are coaxial. A driving shaft of the driver passes through the speed changer and extends into the magnetorheological fluid tank to be fixed perpendicularly at the center of the rotational inertia wheel. The control effect of the present invention may not be greatly affected by the change of a structural form and the change of an external load.

Abstract: A fabricated intelligent joint provided with particle damping chambers for energy dissipation includes a core steel frame, an external fully-fabricated steel pipe column, a fully-fabricated annular beam-column connecting assembly, a structural health detection system and particle damping chambers. The core steel frame is located in the external fully-fabricated steel pipe column, is concentric with the external fully-fabricated steel pipe column and comprises a circular hollow steel keel and a plurality of protruding steel plate wings. The external fully-fabricated steel pipe column is formed by splicing a plurality of arc steel pipe column sheets. A space between the external fully-fabricated steel pipe column and the circular hollow steel keel of the core steel frame has the particle damping chambers installed therein and has concrete poured therein. A large quantity of spherical rubber particles is contained in the particle damping chambers.

The alumina sol-silane composite material provided in the present invention is prepared by raw materials including the following components by weight parts: 5 to 45 parts of alumina sol, 30 to 90 parts of silane, 3 to 10 parts of silane coupling agent, and 1 to 5 parts of dispersant. A hydrophobic anticorrosive coating can be formed after coating the alumina sol-silane composite material provided in the present invention to a surface of a cement-based material, and has good waterproof performance and corrosion resistance.
