摘要: A carrier device for securing an accessory to a vehicle is provided. The carrier device includes a support frame and a first suction cup. The first suction cup includes a suction cup housing defining a suction chamber, a vacuum pump configured to selectively adjust the pressure within the suction chamber to couple the first suction cup to a vehicle, and a first pressure sensor positioned within the suction cup housing to detect suction chamber pressure information. The first suction cup may further includes an electrical line coupled to the first pressure sensor to transmit suction chamber pressure information to a location outside of the first suction cup, and an integrally molded housing formed around the electrical line to prevent pressure loss within the suction chamber. The first suction cup may include a short range wireless module positioned within the suction cup housing and coupled to the first pressure sensor to selectively pair the first pressure sensor to a nearby electronic device to transmit the suction chamber pressure information to a location outside of the first suction cup.

摘要: A ladder rack with improved utility may feature a rugged single body construction with multiple bends forming a pocket between two arms. The ladder rack is mountable upon a surface, such as a vehicle roof, and contains a portion of a ladder within it. The ladder is secured transversely within the pocket as the opening is smaller than the width of a ladder rail and the use of two ladder racks, since one arm projects around a ladder rail, will secure against translational movement along the car's length if positioned to abut ladder rungs. An optional S-bend can be utilized to further control of the ladder in stowage and in securing against movement in transit.

A base portion having an L-clamp or bolt assembly registered and bolted to the vehicle and is securely held to the bed rails of a pick-up truck. Two formed metal vertical uprights or supports are attached to the base portion. A platform portion is attached to the two upright vertical forms or supports. The mounting platform is used to mount accessories such as light bars, emergency lights, spot lights, antennas, or any other accessory. The mounting platform may be easily installed and removed from the vehicle without any damage or modification to the vehicle and without drilling any additional holes in the vehicle.

摘要: A crossbar clamp actuator of a crossbar-to-vehicle coupler may include a horizontally traveling wedge block having a ramped, downward-facing first slide surface, and a wedge follower having a second slide surface in frictional contact with the first slide surface of the traveling wedge block. Substantially horizontal repositioning of the traveling wedge block may cause the ramped first slide surface to urge the wedge follower downward, thereby actuating a crossbar clamp.

摘要: The present invention, in some embodiments thereof, relates to mechanical device for securing objects to the roof of a vehicle, and more particularly, but not exclusively, to a collapsible car roof rack adaptable to multiple car shapes. An aspect of some embodiments of the current invention, referred to herein as the roof rack, relates to a roof rack deployed across the width of a car. Optionally the rack may include two units. For example, a proximal end of each unit may be mechanically attached between a car door and/or frame (i.e. sandwiched between the door and the frame). Alternatively or additionally, the distal end of the roof rack may be removably coupled to the car roof by a combination of magnetic coupling and/or friction. Optionally, each unit can fold small for easy transport and/or storage.
