    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a control resource set (CORESET) is not configured for an active downlink bandwidth part of a component carrier (CC) of the UE. The UE may determine that a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state is not activated for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) of the active downlink bandwidth part of the CC. The UE may determine a default spatial relation for an uplink control channel or uplink signal for the CC based at least in part on determining that the CORESET is not configured for the active downlink bandwidth part of the CC and that the TCI state is not activated for the PDSCH of the active downlink bandwidth part of the CC. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which spatial relations for one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, such as sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, may be configured and a particular spatial relation indicated in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). A base station may configure a pool of available spatial relations for use in SRS transmissions, and the MAC-CE may indicate which spatial relation of the set of available spatial relations is to be used. In other cases, the MAC-CE may provide all of the spatial relation information for an associated SRS transmission. The UE, responsive to receiving the MAC-CE, may transmit a SRS to the base station using the indicated spatial relation.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive, from a base station, a first downlink control information (DCI) message scheduling a first transmission between the UE and the base station. The first DCI message may include an indication of a first beam associated with the first transmission and a second beam associated with a second transmission, where the second beam is associated with the first beam. The UE may then communicate with the base station via the second beam associated with the second transmission based on the first DCI message including the indication of the second beam, where the second transmission is scheduled by a second message different from the first DCI message.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may configure a user equipment (UE) with a list of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state patterns where each entry in the list may correspond to a different TCI state pattern. The base station may transmit an indication of a selected entry from the TCI state pattern list and transmit a grant to the UE indicating that resources have been allocated in for transmitting a transport block (TB). The UE may receive the grant and attempt to receive the TB in accordance with the indicated TCI state pattern. The UE may generate multi-bit feedback to indicate whether the UE was able to successfully decode the TB and transmit the feedback to the base station. The base station may use the multi-bit feedback for determining whether to select a different TCI state pattern.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides signaling for user equipment (UE) panel identification. The UE may have at least a first panel and a second panel. The UE may receive at least one downlink reference signal from a base station. The UE may determine a first mapping of the at least one downlink reference signal to one or more panel identifiers. The UE may receive a configuration of an uplink reference signal resource. Based on the configuration, the UE may transmit an uplink reference signal using a selected panel, the selected panel being associated with a selected panel identifier.     Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that allow secondary cell (SCell) beam failure recovery using a primary cell (PCell). A user equipment (UE) may transmit, via the PCell, an indication of a beam failure of the SCell in a scheduling request (SR) or in a dedicated SR message. After receiving the indication, the base station may request a report from the UE or alternatively, may monitor a set of resources for a report without transmitting a request to the UE. The report may be transmitted via the PCell and may include an indication of a selected beam to use for subsequent communications on the SCell. Based on the report, the base station may modify its transmission configuration for the SCell and communicate with the UE via the selected beam.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently determining when to transmit a beam report indicating a new beam for communicating with a base station after a current beam used for communications with the base station fails. In one example, after detecting beam failure, a user equipment (UE) may compare a quality of each candidate beam available for communicating with a base station to a beam identification threshold, and the UE may perform beam reporting based on the comparisons (e.g., refrain from transmitting a beam report if the quality of each of the candidate beams is lower than the beam identification threshold). In another example, after detecting beam failure, a UE may compare a quality of each candidate beam available for communicating with a base station to a beam detection threshold, and the UE may perform beam reporting based on the comparisons.
