Abstract: An optical connector holding two or more LC-type optical ferrules is provided. The optical connector includes an outer body, an inner front body accommodating the two or more LC-type optical ferrules, ferrule springs for urging the optical ferrules towards a mating connection, and a back body for supporting the ferrule springs. A removable inner front body for polarity change is disclosed. A multi-purpose rotatable boot assembly for polarity change is disclosed. The multi-purpose boot assembly can be pushed and pulled to insert and remove the micro connector from an adapter receptacle.

Abstract: A fiber optic ferrule sub-assembly for insertion into an outer housing of a fiber optic connector includes a ferrule assembly having a ferrule that forms an optical communication connection with another fiber optic device. A back housing includes a back post to be attached to a fiber optic cable. A spring is operatively disposed between the ferrule assembly and the back housing. A linkage connects the ferrule assembly to the back housing such that the spring is compressed and biases the ferrule away from the back housing prior to insertion of the fiber optic ferrule sub-assembly into the outer housing.

Abstract: A fiber optic adapter for mating a multi-fiber optic ferrule connector and a multi-fiber optic connector. An engagement device may be integrated or molded as part of adapter receptacle at either end. The engagement device secures the multi-fiber connector. The adapter may be two-piece with a first portion detachable from a second portion, the first portion housing one or more integrated engagement devices and the second portion housing one or more replaceable engagement devices, or a receptacle configured to secure a latch configured on an outer housing of a connector. Abstract: An in-line dust shutter formed as part an adapter. A hinged dust shutter assembly is secured to an adapter wall. A shutter plate covers an opening formed at either end of the adapter to prevent debris from entering the adapter and distorting the light signal between opposing fiber optic connectors. The shutter plate extends at angle alpha from a rotational axis. The shutter plate is biased closed by a bias spring place about a pin of the rotational axis.

Abstract: A fiber optic ferrule adapter for mating a multi-fiber optic ferrule and a multi-fiber optic connector includes a holder having a cavity where a multi-fiber optic ferrule is held therein, and a receptacle housing with an opening that allows the insertion of a fiber optic connector. The holder has a top opening for receiving the ferrule into its cavity; and two protrusions, which are respectively protruded from each interior side walls of the holder, for latching the ferrule in place inside the cavity. The holder includes a groove recessed on the interior walls of the cavity for catching a ridge on the ferrule so as to prevent any longitudinal movement of the ferrule inside the cavity. The cavity may include a slope next to an interface between the cavity and receptacle housing for allowing the sliding in-and-out of the ferrule at an angle to the top of the holder opening.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a device and system of devices including: a connector comprising a housing comprising a groove lengthwise in a surface of the housing and a push-pull tab comprising a protrusion, a widthwise recess on the connector housing accepting protrusions on a removable anchor device that retains the connector in a port, wherein the push-pull tab releases the connector from the port using protrusions on the anchor device and the receiver device comprising one or more ports for receiving one or more connector types; and the receiver device comprising one or more ports without an anchor; said port secures a second connector type comprising a latch release mechanism; and the receiver device ports are opposite one another; wherein the opposite ports can accept a first connector and a second connector; wherein the first connector release mechanism and differs from the second connector release mechanism.

Abstract: An optical connector assembly a first structure and a second structure, the two structures secured together using a retention structure to form a hybrid assembly. The retention structure uses a slot apex located in a slot channel for securing at least one latch pin of a coupling nut to an adapter housing forming the ingress protected connector without the use of a bias spring. The hybrid assembly is designed to resist water or debris ingress, and may eliminate the use of a bias force to further resist separating the hybrid assembly. When the latch pin passes over the apex and resides in a recess, an audible sound is made indicating the hybrid assembly adapter and coupling nut is mated.
