Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein are directed to an optical fiber connector. The optical fiber connector comprises at least one ferrule, at least one ferrule spring, a connector housing for holding at least one ferrule and at least one ferrule spring such that at least one ferrule spring is loaded to urge the at least one ferrule forward. The connector housing comprises an upper wall portion, the upper wall portion comprising a recess running lengthwise. The optical fiber connector further comprises a remote release comprising a front portion slidably received in the recess, and the remote release is configured to be pulled backward in relation to the connector housing whereby the front portion slides in the recess for releasing the optical fiber connector from a mating adapter.

Abstract: Systems and methods of using a multiport assembly and associated components are disclosed. The multiport assembly can include a multiport device that communicatively couples multiple sets or pairs of connectors, such as optical connectors or electrical connectors, together. The multiport assembly can also include an auxiliary port device that couples to the multiport device to expand the capacity of the multiport assembly. Both the multiport and auxiliary port devices can be selectively configured to receive specific types of connectors by selectively coupling to different types of adapters, where the types of adapters correspond to the types of connectors. When coupled to the multiport or auxiliary port devices, the adapters facilitate the formation of the communication between its corresponding set of connectors.

Abstract: An optical connection system for use with a receptacle and an optical cable assembly includes an adapter and connector. The adapter has an adapter latch element, and the connector has a connector latch element. A delatch actuator with a delatch arm is disposed on the connector housing for movement from a locking position to an unlocking position. One of the adapter latch element and connector latch element is a bendable latch hook and the other is a locking channel. When the connector housing is mated with the adapter, the delatch arm allows the bendable latch hook to latch with the locking channel in the locking position and unlatches the bendable latch hook from the locking channel as it moves to the unlocking position. An actuator lock movably supports a blocking member on the connector for selectively blocking the delatch actuator from moving to the unlocking position.

Abstract: Connection systems for use in fiber optic communication networks and systems are disclosed. Embodiments of backplane connection systems are disclosed that include a daughterboard connector that can make with a backplane connector. One of the connectors can include a movable latch element that can bend a bendable arm on the other connector to latch and unlatch the connectors. A connector can include a movable blocking element that prevents a latch control element from moving its full range when the connectors are disconnected. A latch control element can have a range of motion along which it maintains the connection system in a latched configuration. A mounting system is also disclosed that permits a connector to flow or move along the board in a limited range of motion with respect to three axes.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a Network system including: a connector comprising a housing comprising a groove running widthwise on a surface of the housing; and a push-pull tab comprising a complementary groove, wherein the push-pull tab is detachably connected to the housing; and a receiver device comprising one or more ports for receiving the connector, the one or more ports having an interchangeable anchor device including a first portion and a second portion; wherein the groove is configured to receive the first portion of the interchangeable anchor device when the connector is inserted into the receiving element, and wherein the complimentary groove is configured to receive the second portion of the interchangeable anchor device when the connector is inserted into the receiving element, the push-pull tab being configured to disengage the second portion of the interchangeable anchor device from the complementary groove when the push-pull tab is moved in a direction away from the connector, thereby disengaging the first portion of the interchangeable anchor device from the grove of the connector. A narrow width fiber optic connector comprises a multi-fiber connector, wherein a width of said narrow width fiber optic connector is less than about 5.25 mm, a housing configured to hold the multi-fiber connector and further comprising a connector recess, and a pull tab having a ramp area configured to disengage a latch of one of an adapter and an SFP from said connector recess. The pull tab may include a spring configured to allow the latch of one of the adapter and the SFP to engage with the connector recess.
