    摘要: The present invention relates to a cartridge casing for firearm ammunition and to a method of manufacturing such casing. The casing (1) comprises an elongate interior cavity (4) and extends along a longitudinal axis (5). The cavity (4) is open at the top end of the casing (1) and is defined radially by a circumferentially extending sidewall (3) formed by an elongate tubular portion and at the bottom by a bottom wall (2) which is connected to an axial end of the tubular portion and comprises a bore (7). The casing (1) further comprises in a lateral outer surface an annular projection (18) located proximate the bottom end of the casing (1) and extending circumferentially in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (5) of the casing (1). The casing (1) comprises an elongate tubular sleeve component (10) open at both axial ends and a separate bottom component (11) fixedly secured to the sleeve component (10). The tubular portion is formed by the sleeve component (10), and the bottom wall (2) is formed at least in part by the bottom component (11). The bottom component (11) comprises a lower axial end surface (8), an opposite upper axial end surface (15) and a circumferentially extending lateral outer surface on which the annular projection (18) is arranged. The casing (1) may be manufactured by providing the bottom component (11) and the sleeve component (10) and fixedly securing the sleeve component (10) to the bottom component (11).

    摘要: In a breech loading firearm, an extractor arm is slidingly arranged within a cavity beneath the barrel. The extractor arm has a retracted position and an extended position. In the retracted position, the extractor arm is constrained from rotating, and in the extended position, the extractor arm has at least one degree of rotational freedom in the cavity without bending. The intermediate portion of the extractor arm is thicker than the distal end such that the second thickness fits within the cavity when the extractor arm is in its retracted position. The reduced thickness at the distal end provides a space between the extractor arm and a wall of the cavity when the extractor arm is in its extended position to provide for the rotation of the extractor arm within the cavity in its extended position. The proximal end of the extractor arm has an angled face.

The subsonic shell casing has an engineered internal propellant cavity built into the internal body of the casing itself that does not necessarily depend on the introduction of a separate volume reducing device such as tubing, filler, foam filler and the like. This ensures the integrity of the case, does not result in anything being expelled through the muzzle of the weapon other than the projectile, does not have any burning or combusting components, allows for very precise control of the internal volume and thus chamber pressure, and is economical to produce.

    摘要: A method and system for attaching a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag to an ordinance is provided. By tailoring the packaged tag and electronics to accommodate existing ordinance body cavities the integrity of the bomb casing is maintained. Likewise, fin assemblies also remain intact and are mounted in a conventional manner to the tagged ordinance. Numerous ordinance types, to include the mark (MK) 80 series general purpose bombs and equivalents are compatible with the tagging method and system described herein. Set screw mounted tail assemblies of various fin configurations are readily assembled onto the metal body casings of tagged ordinances. A curved dipole antenna provides access to external query signals and transmission of tag locating signals. As described herein, tag antennas can mount between ordinance assembly parts, adding to the ease of retrofitting existing ordinance inventory for a RFID tag localizing system.

The intersection of the inner surface of the base wall and the inner surface of the cylindrical wall is curved or forms an oblique angle, while the outer surface of the insert end is not curved and does not form an oblique angle.
