摘要: A casino system in a casino using a gaming chip to which an RFID tag storing identification information is attached, comprising a registration device for registering the identification information of the gaming chip to be used in the casino, and a database for storing a list of the identification information registered by the registration device. The list includes status information that indicates whether or not the gaming chip is usable, and the registration device makes the status information usable for the gaming chip that has already been registered.

摘要: Systems and methods for radio-frequency identification (RFID) are disclosed where session control tasks are offloaded from an RFID reader to a separate device which can take the form of an RFID transmitter such as a session control broadcaster. Accordingly, the RFID transmitter transmits messages to RFID tags to control which of the tags within range of the RFID transmitter are in a readable state and/or unreadable state. These messages can take the form of session control messages, and these session control messages can be targeted to tags of interest. By offloading the transmission of messages that control the readability of tags to a separate RFID transmitter, the system frees up the RFID reader to spend more time on inventory read operations, which reduces the risk that an RFID tag will stay hidden when it briefly exists in a hot spot.

摘要: A method for authenticating the compatibility of a staple cartridge with a surgical instrument is disclosed. The method can comprise inserting a staple cartridge into a surgical instrument, receiving a first signal from a first RFID tag on a first component of the staple cartridge with an RFID reader system, receiving a second signal from a second RFID tag on a second component of the staple cartridge with the RFID reader system, comparing the first signal and the second signal to stored data for a compatible staple cartridge, and locking a staple firing system of the surgical instrument if the first signal and the second signal do not match the stored data for a compatible staple cartridge.

摘要: Systems for tamper proofing vapor device e-liquid tanks are provided. The systems comprise tanks with one or more irremovable Radio Frequency Identification tags (RFID) tags. The tanks are used in conjunction with vaping devices that are equipped with a wireless RFID scanner and a processor. The tank may include a memory device with authentication data and a partial wired circuit segment connected thereto. The vape device may also include a wired a circuit segment connected to the processor and a battery. The two wired circuit segments are connected together physically and electrically to form a complete circuit when the tank makes physical contact with the vape device. The connection allows the processor to periodically read the memory device to ensure the tank is not replaced with an adulterated tank after the RFID tag(s) enable the heating element.

摘要: Implantable transponders comprising no ferromagnetic parts for use in medical implants are disclosed herein. Such transponders may assist in preventing interference of transponders with medical imaging technologies. Such transponders may optionally be of a small size, and may assist in collecting and transmitting data and information regarding implanted medical devices. Methods of using such transponders, readers for detecting such transponders, and methods for using such readers are also described.

摘要: A smart container that includes a bottle or other container a processor, passive radio-frequency (RF) communications tag (e.g., an RFID or NFC tag) and/or Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and/or cellular capabilities, and a (colored) light source. The container may hold liquid, food, pills, or another consumable substance. The passive RF communications tag and/or Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and/or cellular antenna may also be contained on a smart band, a sticker, a button, and/or a keychain or dongle. The light source may include one or more light-emitting diodes (LEDs) which can be programmed to emit unique illumination patterns. The container may also include a speaker or motor to emit audio or vibrational notifications. The container provides a method of tracking consumption by a user of a substance held in a container.

摘要: Some embodiments are directed to using tag-reader technologies in order to provide optimized visualization of assets throughout a logistics network, which is used to make associated predictions. Particular reader devices dispersed throughout the logistics network derive data from tags coupled to assets that are in transit within the logistics network. In some embodiments, this data is fed into a computer model as input to make certain predictions and responsively cause a corrective action to be made within the logistics network, which offsets any logistics network operation disruptions.
