    Abstract: A security device has user-configurable motion detection settings. The security device includes at least one camera configured to capture sequential frames of image data within a field of view; at least one processor; memory communicatively coupled with the processor(s); a location setting, stored in the memory, defining whether or not the security device is located at a common access area; and machine readable instructions stored in the memory. The machine readable instructions are executable by the processor(s) to determine the image data indicates motion; and determine that the motion indicates lingering presence at the common access area. In certain embodiments, the machine readable instructions are executable by the processor(s) to determine, from the image data, that the average ambient light over a daily period varies less than a light variation threshold, and configure the location setting to indicate that the security device is located at the common access area.

    Abstract: Migrating audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices to new networks in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, a method for an A/V recording and communication device comprises: storing first network access credentials for accessing a first network having first network credentials; connecting to a second network using the first network access credentials, the second network being broadcast by a client device and having second network credentials identical to the first network credentials; in response to connecting to the second network, communicating over the second network, with the client device; in response to communicating with the client device, receiving updated network access credentials for accessing a third network having third network credentials different than the first and the second network credentials; and in response to receiving the updated network access credentials, connecting to the third network using the updated network access credentials.

    Abstract: Activating security system alarms based on data generated by audio/video (A/V) recording and communication devices in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure are provided. In one embodiment, an network device communicatively coupled to a security system in an armed mode is provided, the network device comprising: one or more processors; a communication module; and a non-transitory machine-readable memory storing a program comprising sets of instructions for: receiving sensor data indicative of an entry/exit event at an entry point; determining, based on at least one of motion data and image data generated by an A/V recording and communication device having a field of view, whether a person was present in the field of view of the A/V recording and communication device prior to the entry/exit event; determining whether the person is authorized; and upon determining that the person is not authorized, activating an alarm action of the security system.
