摘要: Methods and arrangements of text entry are discussed. Embodiments include transformations, code, state machines or other logic to enter text selecting text based upon the number of words in phrases of the text, upon the number of letters in words of the text, or upon other patterns of the text. The method may also involve indexing the selected text, matching text currently being entered by the user into an application to a portion of a segment of the indexed text, and entering a remaining portion of the segment of the indexed text into the application based upon the matching. In many embodiments, the text may be selected from the text entered into any of several applications. In a few embodiments, the text may be selected from sources specified by a user. In further embodiments, the sources may constitute data files.

摘要: Systems and methods for display of chained messages in a single email in different orders allow a user to specify sort criteria to determine the order of display of chained messages. The system includes a message finding program and a message sorting program. The message finding program identifies individual messages within an email and populates a message list with a unique identifier for each message and sorting data contained within each message. The message sorting program receives sorting criteria defined by a user via an email display and sorts the sorting data within the message list pursuant to the sorting criteria. After sorting the message list, the message sorting program provides the email display with the messages in order of their identifiers within the message list for display as a single email in their sorted order.

摘要: A method for updating a message on a plurality of devices from a single device comprising a Configuration Program (CP), an Audio Device Update Program (ADUP), and a Text Device Update Program (TDUP). Using the CP, the user may enable and disable the present invention, add or delete devices, create and save messages, select existing messages to play to callers or display to senders, enable automated status updates, enable multiple message levels, or enable availability updates. The automated status update automatically creates messages from the user's calendar. The multiple message levels are a hierarchy of messages in which the message sent to a caller or sender based on their identity. The availability update communicates the user's next available time to the caller or sender. The ADUP and TDUP select the appropriate message to play or send based on whether automated status updates, multiple message levels, and availability updates are enabled.

摘要: A user connected to a remote printer can choose to activate a print-monitoring feature of the printer as part of the submitted print job. As the job begins to print, the output of the printer is monitored for print quality. If an event occurs during the print job that affects the print job, the user receives real-time notification of the status of the print job. The events can be printer related such as paper jam or print job related such as poor print quality. The user can have an option of reviewing various parts of the print job during the printing process. There can also be an automatic print job out evaluation. If the user accepts the print quality, the printer will continue printing the job. If the user is not satisfied with the print quality, the job is halted and sent to a temporary print buffer. While the job is halted, adjustments are made to either the printer to improve print quality or to the print parameters of the print job to improve print quality.

摘要: A file managing software program for managing a list of elements in a specific sequence in a first file of a computer program, including the steps of copying the first file to form a second file having an identical list of elements as the first file. The user is then permitted to rearrange the sequence of the elements of the second file independently of the sequence of the first file. A display of both the first and the second file list elements is provided to the user. Further embodiments allow the user to categorize, prioritize, and order according to users specified rules of how the second file element list is organized and displayed to provide a more convenient and flexible presentation of the file contents.

摘要: A system for automatically verifying an incoming telephone number. In response to detecting an incoming communication, a determination is made as to whether a telephone number associated with the incoming communication matches one of a plurality of telephone numbers in a storage unit. In response to determining that the telephone number associated with the incoming communication does not match one of the plurality of telephone numbers in the storage unit, telephone number verification rules are applied to determine whether to continue with the incoming communication. In response to a determination not to continue with the incoming communication based on the telephone number verification rules, an alert is provided.

摘要: Content is transferred from one computer resource to another computer resource by receiving a first insertion point or replacement area from a first user interface to a destination computer resource, receiving an enablement to perform automatic paste operation, switching to a user interface to a source computer resource, receiving a user selection of content from said source user interface, and automatically copying the selected content to a transfer buffer and to the designated insertion point(s) in the destination computer resource. Each time source content is selected, a number of source reference data items such as author, publication date, and source file name or network address are captured and stored. The stored source reference identifies may then be used to automatically generate footnotes, end notes, and bibliographical entries.

摘要: A system for verifying and updating a telephone number. After dialing a telephone number, a contact name and a timestamp in a service provider database is compared with a contact name and a timestamp in a storage device. If the contact name in the service provider database does not match the contact name in the storage device and the timestamp in the service provider database is not more recent than the timestamp in the storage device, a determination is made as to whether the service provider database indicates that a new telephone number is associated with the contact name. If a new telephone number is indicated for the contact name, the service provider database is queried for the new telephone number and the dialed telephone number is routed to the new telephone number. Also, the storage device is updated with the new telephone number.
