摘要： A tampon and a tampon applicator in combination for expulsion of a tampon. The tampon applicator has a tampon holder tube. The tampon holder tube has a hollow interior portion, a first end dimensioned for insertion into a vaginal cavity, a second end positioned oppositely to the first end, a force controller, and at least one side expulsion member. The side expulsion member has a weakened region located at its base. The tampon has a body having a first end, center, and a second end; body has a joined portion; the body has a plurality of absorbent strips joined at the joined portion. The strips are selected from the group consisting of nonwoven materials, films, woven materials, absorbent foams, superabsorbent polymers, and mixtures thereof. The tampon is housed within the hollow interior portion of the tampon holder tube in a pre-expelled position.

摘要： A feminine hygiene product which has a tampon and a tampon applicator. The tampon applicator has a rupturable membranous cap permanently associated with a tampon holder tube. The tampon holder tube has a hollow interior portion, an interior surface, an exterior surface, an outer perimeter, a longitudinal axis, a first end dimensioned for insertion into a vaginal cavity, and a second end positioned oppositely to the first end. The tampon is housed in the tampon holder tube within the hollow interior portion of the tampon holder tube and is substantially aligned with the longitudinal axis of the tampon holder tube in a pre-expelled position. The rupturable membranous cap covers at least a portion of the tampon. During expulsion of the tampon from the tampon holder tube, the rupturable membranous cap reorients the tampon into a direction substantially non-aligned to the longitudinal axis of the tampon holder tube.

摘要： A method for treating urinary incontinence includes the steps of inserting into the woman's vagina a first disposable device, removing the first disposable device, and inserting a second disposable device substantially identical to the first disposable device. The disposable devices have a generally cylindrical working portion with opposed faces to provide support to an associated urinary system and an anchoring portion to maintain the disposable device in place during use. The working portion also has an initial equivalent diameter ranging from about 20 to about 170 mm, an insertion equivalent diameter ranging from about 5 to about 25 mm, a use equivalent diameter ranging from about 20 to about 40 mm and a length ranging from about 20 to about 60 mm. The anchoring portion also has an initial equivalent diameter ranging from about 20 to about 60 mm, an insertion equivalent diameter ranging from about 10 to about 25 mm, a use equivalent diameter ranging from about 20 to about 60 mm and a length ranging from about 10 to about 50 mm.

摘要： The present invention provides an improved tampon applicator having a grip area which provides the user better gripping ability. The grip area may be an area between two ridges on the outer tube of the applicator. In the alternative or in addition to the ridges, the grip area may be a raised pattern which is raised by a distance of between about 0.10 mm and about 0.75 mm. The present invention also provides an improved petal design for a tampon applicator. In this embodiment of the present invention, the petals are separated from each other on all sides by a non-linear gap and the gap is not parallel with the longitudinal axis of the tampon applicator.

The barrel includes a head, a foot, and a body having a length and extending between the head and the foot. The barrel further defines an axial passage disposed along substantially the entire length of the body beginning at the foot and ending proximate the head, and includes a side aperture providing external access through the body of the barrel to the axial passage at the head of the barrel. The plunger is sized to travel within the axial passage of the barrel between a relaxed position and a compressed position, in which a suppository is ejected from the side aperture, upon actuation.
