摘要： A big body for use in overlying the container rim of a casket comprises a plurality of separate panels mountable to the container. When the casket is open for viewing, one panel hangs within the container and presents an exposed side. Another panel overlies the rim of the container and presents an exposed side. A third panel is movable between a hanging position within the container and an overlying position over the container rim such that either side thereof is exposed. The panels are mutually positionable in a first mode wherein the exposed sides of the hanging and overlying panels have a first ornamental appearance, and a second mode wherein the exposed sides of the hanging and overlying panels have a second, different ornamental appearance.

摘要： A composite burial vault is provided having a hollow liner constructed of a synthetic plastic resinous material which is filled with concrete. In constructing the burial vault, the liner is constructed from thermosetting resinous material in any conventional method. While the liner is still wet, aggregate is applied to the surface of the liner by a flocking gun or the like. Concrete is then poured between a mold and the treated surface of the liner where it forms a mechanical bond to the coarse aggregate coating on the liner.

摘要： A burial vault including a base and a cover or dome molded from moldable plastic resinous material. The base and cover or dome have reinforcing ribs formed integrally therewith on the inner surfaces of the side and end walls thereof. The base has a pattern of reticulated reinforcing ribs formed integrally with and on the inner surface of the bottom of the base, and the cover or dome has a comparable pattern of reticulated reinforcing ribs formed integrally with and on the inner or lower surface of the top wall of the cover or dome, and the base has reinforcing structures formed integrally therewith at the bottom corners of the base. The base and the cover or dome have reinforcing ribs formed on the inner surfaces of the side and end walls thereof. The base and the cover or dome have outwardly projecting marginal or peripheral sealing flanges formed integrally therein at the upper and lower edges thereof, respectively, and these sealing flanges have mating and coacting sealing tongues and grooves formed therein. At least certain of the walls of the base and the cover or dome have geometrically shaped recesses formed in the outer surfaces thereof and these recesses are adapted to receive correspondingly geometrically shaped decorative colored panels or inserts adhesively mounted therein. At least certain of the reinforcing ribs on the inner surfaces of the side walls of the base and the dome or cover have coacting latching grooves and tongues formed therein for securely latching the base and the cover or dome together in assembled relationship.

摘要： A display casket for removably holding a body display container having a continuous lateral flange around its upper periphery with the casket having a casing with front, rear and side walls, a bottom and a lid, with each of the walls having an upper surface to engage under the lateral flange of the display container for support thereof. The display casket has a first set of hinges with removable hinge pins pivotally mounting the lid to the rear wall. A second hinge interconnects the casing and the lower edge of the rear wall for downward pivoting of the rear wall, and a releasable latch holds the rear wall in upright position. Pivot structure coacts between the front wall and the lid to enable reverse inclination of the lid for insertion and removal of a body display container relative to the casket through an opening provided by downward pivoting of the rear wall.

An outer casket shell is disposed over and around the casket bottom element. This outer casket shell includes a top planar element which has a viewing means to allow visitors to see the face of the deceased.The inventive casket may be made of waxed-treated cardboard to keep costs to a minimum. The effects of decomposition may be neutralized to some extent by the provision of compartments containing a deodorizer, a desiccant, and/or a perfumery or fragrance-bearing material.

摘要： Casket according to the teachings of the present invention is disclosed including, a bottom, a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, and a top. The parts of the casket are longitudinally, slidably interconnected together such that each successive part of the casket interfits and interlocks with the others. Thus the bottom, sides, ends, and top interfit in a fashion that the assembly of the top locks the bottom, sides, and ends and prevents movement of the bottom, sides, and ends in any direction to form a rigid, unitary, complete casket obviating the necessity of any further fastening elements of any kind. In the preferred embodiment, no hardware of any kind is required in the assembly of the casket. Therefore, the casket according to the teachings of the present invention meets certain religious requirements and allows a dignified burial while avoiding excessive costs. Handle members are further provided formed from rope members threaded through apertures with the ends of the rope member being cinched between apertures such that no knots are required in forming secure handles.

摘要： A vertical burial system characterized by a plurality of vertically oriented burial bores and a plurality of cylindrical corpse containers disposed vertically in the respective bores. Preferably, each bore contains a casing therewithin that has a plurality of individual supports at different levels for receiving a plurality of the respective vertically disposed corpse containers therewithin. The casings have anchors for preventing being lifted from the bores by bouyancy effects in saturated soils and are sealed against the influx of water. Removable top lids and horizontal tombstones are provided for access and for identification from the top, or surface of the earth. The corpse containers preferably comprise foamed plastic loosely conformably fitting the corpse therewithin for supporting the corpse in the horizontal or vertical position. If desired, the casings, with the respective corpse containers therewithin, may be employed for shipping, as following a common disaster for a family or during war time. In this way, the casing with a plurality of corpse containers therewithin can be emplaced in an automatically drilled bore hole in a cemetary or the like.
