摘要： The invention is a cross-country ski which is useful for ski mountaineering. The cross-country ski comprises a ski body having a longitudinal slot in its underface, metal edges extending below the underface, a climbing surface fixed in said longitudinal slot, a first fastening means fixed in said longitudinal slot, and a detachable running surface. The longitudinal slot preferably runs the entire length of the sliding sole, i.e., the sliding surface of the ski. The running surface has a second fastening means fixed on its backside and preferably an element of a third fastening means at its ends. In the latter case, an element of the third fastening means is also present on the ski body. The running surface covers the entire underface of the ski between the metal edges and fits flush with the metal edges.

摘要： The running surface of an Alpine ski has a front portion adjoining its tip, a rear portion, and an intervening middle portion supporting a binding, the three portions differing from one another in their profiling designed to exert a minimum guiding effect in the middle portion and a maximum guiding effect in the rear portion. The latter, therefore, has one or more longitudinal grooves whose combined cross-sectional area exceeds that of the groove or grooves of the front portion whereas the middle portion is grooved only slightly or not at all.

摘要： A no-wax ski base is formed of a composite material in which relatively harder particles are uniformly distributed in a plastic matrix. The harder particles are angularly oriented with respect to the gliding surface of the ski base to provide a unidirectional friction coefficient that combines good gliding properties in the ski forward direction with good grip properties in the backward or "kick off" direction of the ski. These friction properties are maintained throughout the entire life of the ski base irrespective of wear. The ski base may be manufactured by extruding the plastic composite material through a split nozzle while causing it to flow substantially asymmetrically through the split nozzle to obtain the angular orientation of the harder particles in the plastic matrix.

The cutting tool thus moved is used to form said tread surface with individual recesses, which partly overlap and are defined by sawtooth-shaped step ramps extending in said longitudinal direction. Adjacent transverse rows of said recesses overlap preferably by one-half of the length of each of said transverse steps.

The web further has a connecting member for connecting adjacent ones of said sections flanked, via the pair of grooves, by reinforcing lugs and having an inner cutout at a site substantially on the extension of the crack and having an elongated slot surrounding the inner cutout. The crack is open into the elongated slot, and the connecting member further has a pair of resilient projections defined by the pair of grooves and the elongated slot and also a resilient flap portion defined by said elongated slot and said inner cutout and further having connecting portions connecting said resilient projections with said flap portion. Such an edge member can withstand sufficiently a high applied tensile load without impairing the flexibility of the ski body.
