Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, configuration information regarding one or more available slots associated with transmitting sounding reference signal (SRS) information. The UE may receive, from the base station, dynamic downlink communication including slot information for determining a select available slot from among the one or more available slots. The UE may transmit, to the base station, the SRS information during the select available slot, determined based at least in part on the slot information and the configuration information. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: A base station may determine co-phase information and uplink precoding information (e.g., user equipment (UE) precoder information) based on one or more received sounding reference signals (SRSs) from a UE. The UE may adjust precoders or co-phase for different SRS transmissions over the one or more configured SRS resources. As such, the base station may indicate either co-phase information or uplink precoding information via an SRS resource indicator (SRI), and may transmit an explicit indication of the remaining co-phase information or uplink precoding information in addition to the SRI. In other examples (e.g., when only a single SRS resource is configured), the base station may transmit an index corresponding to uplink precoding information, as well as a separate indication of co-phase information. In some cases, a port selection pattern may be included with an explicit indication, indicating a selection of antenna port indices the precoder or co-phase index applies to.

Abstract: Channel state information (CSI) operations are disclosed with regard to elevation beamforming (EB)/full dimension (FD) multiple input, multiple output (ED/FD-MIMO) operations. With CSI processing associated with multiple CSI-reference signal (CSI-RS) resources, ambiguities may arise in determining the CSI reporting type and rank. CSI reporting type may be determined using a last reported beam selection indicator (BI) or, in the absence of a BI, may be determined according to a predefined rule. When rank and BI are reported separately and rank is absent, user equipment may determine a default reference rank for CSI reporting based on either or both of previously reported rank or BI. When rank and BI are jointly reported, encoding schemes with fixed bitwidths determined based on either CSI-RS processes or resources may be used to enhance decoding. CSI-RS antenna ports, processes, or resources may also be used in determining application of CSI processing relaxation.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, configuration information indicating that the UE is to compress a precoding matrix indicator in connection with channel state information reporting, wherein the precoding matrix indicator is to be compressed based at least in part on a quantization dependency between transmission layers or an orthogonality relationship between the transmission layers, and wherein the configuration information is associated with a type II, higher rank codebook for multiple input multiple output configuration. The UE may transmit, to a base station (BS), the compressed precoding matrix indicator to the base station based at least in part on receiving the configuration information. The UE and BS may use a communication configuration based at least in part on a precoding matrix indicator recovered from the compressed precoding matrix indicator. Abstract: Precoding matrix indicator (PMI) feedback for Type II channel state information (CSI) feedback in new radio (NR) multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) operations is discussed. According to various aspects, a user equipment (UE) determines a plurality of CSI feedback components and identifies a set of discarded ones of these components based on a particular component value of a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) component. The UE may then generate an adjusted CSI report by adjusting how the discarded feedback components are treated. The resulting adjusted CSI report may then be transmitted to a serving base station.

Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein identify transmission strategies and to communicate those identified transmission strategies in a transparent communication environment. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may identify a new transmission strategy for a downlink channel different from a current transmission strategy for the down link channel. The UE may transmit a channel state information (CSI) message that includes an indication of the new transmission strategy identified by the UE. In some examples, a base station may identify the new transmission strategy for the downlink channel. The base station may transmit a codebook subset restriction (CSR) indicator that includes an indication of the new transmission strategy identified by the base station. In some examples, the UE may modify its feedback strategy based on the new transmission strategy.
