Abstract: Ruggedized field terminated optical fiber connector systems comprising a field terminated connector assembly including a drop cable coupled to a connector, the drop cable having a custom length. The ruggedized field terminated connector system may further comprise a rugged front portion configured to slide over at least a portion of the field terminated connector assembly, and a rear connector body configured to couple to the rugged front portion. The rear body has a crimp ring and a grommet is slide into said crimp ring, and secured therein.

Abstract: An optical fiber array with high reliability, which relates to the technical field of optical fibers is disclosed. The optical fiber array is composed of three parts, namely, optical fiber positioning substrate (1), cover plate (2) and optical fiber ribbon (3). One end of the optical fiber ribbon is striped to be a naked fiber (4). The naked fiber (4) is pressed into the micro-groove array of the optical fiber positioning substrate (1) by the cover plate (2) and glued and fixed with a glue layer (5), and a transitional region between the stripped part and the unstripped part of the optical fiber ribbon (3) is glued and fixed onto a rear half of the optical fiber positioning substrate (1) with the glue layer (5). It has a reasonable and novel structural design. Through frosting of the surfaces of the positioning substrate (1) and the cover plate (2) to be bonded with glue, gluing area between the glue layer and the optical fiber positioning substrate, the cover plate and the optical fiber ribbon can be increase and bonding strength of the glue layer can be enhanced so that it can work in harsh environment of high temperature and humidity without de-bonding to ensure positioning accuracy of optical fibers.

Abstract: Connector assemblies are described herein. For example, a connector assembly including: a housing configured to accept a first ferrule and a second ferrule. The connector assembly may also have a push/pull clip that is configure to depress a protrusion that rotates down a connector device to remove the connector assembly from an adapter. The push/pull clip is integrated with a cable boot assembly that allows a user to apply a distal force to remove or insert the connector assembly into the adapter housing. The push/pull clip is configured for use to release a MPO and LC connector type from an adapter.

Abstract: A multiple fiber push-on (MPO) optical connector is provided having a ferrule configured to house multiple optical fibers and including a stepped portion extending from at least one pair of opposing exterior surfaces of the ferrule. A one-piece housing-backpost is provided having a distal end in a connection direction and a proximal end in a cable direction. The one-piece housing-backpost is configured to receive a ferrule spring and the ferrule from the distal end. The housing-backpost includes at least one resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion extending from a sidewall to engage the corresponding stepped portion of the ferrule. The resiliently-deformable ferrule-retaining protrusion is configured to deform towards the housing-backpost interior sidewall as the ferrule is inserted from the distal end and to extend outward against the stepped portion of the ferrule when the ferrule is seated in the housing-backpost to maintain the ferrule in the housing-backpost.

Abstract: An optical connector holding two or more LC-type optical ferrules is provided. The optical connector includes an outer body, an inner front body accommodating the two or more LC-type optical ferrules, ferrule springs for urging the optical ferrules towards a mating receptacle, and a back body for supporting the ferrule springs. The outer body and the inner front body are configured such that four LC-type optical ferrules are accommodated in a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver footprint or eight LC-type optical ferrules are accommodated in a quad small form-factor pluggable (QSFP) transceiver footprint. A mating receptacle (transceiver or adapter) includes internal alignment slots configured to accept a corresponding alignment key on connector outer housing to ensure alignment and orientation for maximum signal transfer between opposing ferrule end faces.

Abstract: A lockable dust cap is inserted over a proximal end of an adapter assembly. The lockable dust cap has locking arms that secured the dust cap hub to the proximal end of the adapter assembly, and a grip portion that when rotated from an unlocked “0” or locked “1” position the dust cap is secured at the proximal end of the adapter. The dust cap is ingress protected with a seal and polymer shroud that covers the proximal end of the adapter. This helps to prevent moisture or debris ingress into the adapter assembly.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a device and system of devices including: a connector comprising a housing comprising a groove lengthwise in a surface of the housing and a push-pull tab comprising a protrusion, a widthwise recess on the connector housing accepting protrusions on a removable anchor device that retains the connector in a port, wherein the push-pull tab releases the connector from the port using protrusions on the anchor device and the receiver device comprising one or more ports for receiving one or more connector types; and the receiver device comprising one or more ports without an anchor; said port secures a second connector type comprising a latch release mechanism; and the receiver device ports are opposite one another; wherein the opposite ports can accept a first connector and a second connector; wherein the first connector release mechanism and differs from the second connector release mechanism.
