Abstract: A method is performed at a computing system with a first housing that includes a primary display and a second housing at least partially containing (i) a physical keyboard and a touch-sensitive secondary display (“TSSD”) that is distinct from the primary display. The method includes: displaying, on the primary display, a first user interface for an application and displaying, on the TSSD, a first set of affordances corresponding to a first portion of the application. The method further includes: detecting a swipe gesture on the TSSD. If the swipe gesture was performed in a first direction, the method includes: displaying a second set of affordances corresponding to the first portion on the TSSD. If the swipe gesture was performed in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, the method includes: displaying a third set of affordances corresponding to a second portion of the application on the TSSD.

Abstract: An electronic device displays selectable user interface elements, detects a touch input on a first user interface element, and in response to detecting a first portion of the touch input, which reaches a first intensity threshold, changes an appearance of the first selectable user interface element to indicate that the input has been detected. The device then detects a second portion of the touch input, including an increase in intensity of the touch input followed by a decrease in intensity, and in response to detecting the second portion of the touch input: displays or forgoes displaying a representation of content corresponding to the first user interface element, including a plurality of selectable controls for interacting with the content, depending on whether the intensity of the touch input increases above the second intensity threshold during the second portion of the touch input.

Abstract: A computing device having a touch-sensitive surface and a display, detects a stylus input on the touch-sensitive surface while displaying a user interface. Abstract: An electronic device with a display, touch-sensitive surface and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts with the touch-sensitive surface displays a virtual keyboard, and outputs characters corresponding to respective keys in the virtual keyboard when character-output criteria are met. While displaying an autocorrect user interface for changing a string of characters to a modified string of characters, the device detects an autocorrect input that includes an increase in intensity of a contact above a first intensity threshold while a focus selector is over a respective user interface element in the autocorrect user interface, and then either changes the string of characters to the modified string of characters, or maintains the string or characters, depending on whether the contact has an intensity that meets first predefined criteria with respect to the first intensity threshold and a second intensity threshold that is higher than the first intensity threshold.

Abstract: Electronic devices may use touch pads that have touch sensor arrays, force sensors, and actuators for providing tactile feedback. A touch pad may be mounted in a computer housing. The touch pad may have a rectangular planar touch pad member that has a glass layer covered with ink and contains a capacitive touch sensor array. Force sensors may be mounted under each of the four corners of the rectangular planar touch pad member. The force sensors may be used to measure how much force is applied to the surface of the planar touch pad member by a user. Processed force sensor signals may indicate the presence of button activity such as press and release events. In response to detected button activity or other activity in the device, actuator drive signals may be generated for controlling the actuator. The user may supply settings to adjust signal processing and tactile feedback parameters.
