Abstract: A display panel including a display function layer displaying an image in a display area, a cover member including a first face and a second face disposed on an opposite side of the first face and faces the display panel, and a fingerprint sensor including a plurality of first detection electrodes disposed in a sensor base and configured to detect unevenness of an object brought into contact with or approaching the first face of the cover member, a shield electrode disposed to face the plurality of first detection electrodes and configured to suppress a change in capacitance between the first detection electrodes and the shield electrode, and switching elements disposed in correspondence with the first detection electrodes, the fingerprint sensor being arranged between the cover member and the display panel and arranged to overlap with the display area when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the first face are included.

Abstract: A touch panel is disclosed herein. In an embodiment, the touch panel includes a substrate with first and second surfaces, a drive electrode facing the first surface, a plurality of touch detection electrodes facing the second surface, and a dummy electrode between adjacent touch detection electrodes. Each touch detection electrode includes a first conductive thin wire extending parallel to the first and second surfaces. The dummy electrode includes a second conductive thin wire extending along the first conductive thin wire. The first conductive thin wire includes a first bent portion and a second bent portion alternately arranged with the first conductive thin wire having a zigzag pattern. The second conductive thin wire includes a third bent portion and a slit that are alternately arranged. The third bent portion is arranged on a virtual straight line formed by virtually connecting the first bent portions of one first conductive thin wire.

Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, pixel electrodes, a display functional layer, common electrodes, first electrodes, and a controller. The common electrodes and the first electrodes intersect with each other. The controller controls the pixel electrodes, the common electrodes, and the first electrodes in a plurality of display periods to display an image, a first sensing period, and a second sensing period. During the display periods, the pixel electrodes are supplied with a pixel signal, and the common electrodes are supplied with a common signal. During the first sensing period, the common electrodes are supplied with a first drive signal to generate a magnetic field, and an electromotive force caused by the magnetic field is generated in the first electrodes. During the second sensing period, the common electrodes are supplied with a second drive signal to generate electrostatic capacitance between the common electrodes and the first electrodes.

Abstract: In a display apparatus provided with an electrophoresis layer, such a display apparatus capable of operating a driving electrode for use in displaying an image as an electrode for use in detecting an input position is provided. A display apparatus includes: a substrate; another substrate that is disposed so as to face the substrate; an electrophoresis layer sandwiched between the substrate and another substrate; a plurality of pixel electrodes formed on the substrate; and a plurality of driving electrodes formed on another substrate. An electric field is formed between each of the plurality of pixel electrodes and each of the plurality of driving electrodes, so that an image is displayed, and an input position is detected based on an electrostatic capacitance of each of the plurality of driving electrodes.

Abstract: A display device includes: a first substrate; a display functional layer; a plurality of first electrodes; a light guide plate; a plurality of second electrodes; and a controller configured to control the first and second electrodes. The first substrate, the display functional layer, the first electrodes, the light guide plate, and the second electrodes are stacked in this order. The controller performs operations during a plurality of display periods to display an image, during a first sensing period, and during a second sensing period in a time-division manner. The first electrodes are supplied with a first drive signal and an electromotive force caused by electromagnetic induction is generated in the second electrodes during the first sensing period. The first electrodes are supplied with a second drive signal to generate electrostatic capacitance between the first electrodes and the second electrodes during the second sensing period.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device with a touch detecting function includes: a substrate; a display area; a touch detection electrode provided with a plurality of conductive thin wires, each of the conductive thin wires including a plurality of thin wire pieces each having a linear shape and including a first end and a second end; a drive electrode; and a display functional layer. The adjacent thin wire pieces are arranged so as to be bent at a bent portion serving as a portion at which the second end of the one thin wire piece of the adjacent thin wire pieces is connected to the first end of the other thin wire piece of the adjacent thin wire pieces, and the conductive thin wires include a bent portion having an angle formed by the adjacent thin wire pieces different from angles of the other bent portions.
