摘要： A hook setting apparatus which supports a fishing rod and is triggered responsive to the fish jerking on the bait secured to the rod through a fishing line. The apparatus includes a support member disposed in the substantially upright position which pivotally carries on its end portion a second member which supports a rod holder. A spring assembly biases the second member in a predetermined pivotal direction for setting the hook in the fish's mouth. A trigger assembly which is mounted on the support member maintains a second member in a predetermined pivotal position by counteracting the forces applied to the second member by the tension spring assembly. The trigger assembly releases the second member responsive to a fish jerking on the fishing pole such that the tension spring assembly thereby sets the hook in the fish's mouth. The force required to trigger the device can be adjusted such that fishes of various sizes will activate the device.

摘要： An improved fishing rod holder comprised of a support having a bar pivotally mounted thereon for movement between two positions. The bar has a tube near one end thereof for receiving the butt end of a fishing rod and a U-shaped clip near the other end for receiving an adjacent portion of the fishing rod. When the bar is in one position, the fishing rod is inclined and when the bar is in the other position, the fishing rod is almost vertical. One or more springs bias the bar toward the other position. A latch releasably holds the bar in the one position and a solenoid coupled with the latch releases the latch and allows the bar to move quickly from the one position to the other position. A pivotal arm coupled with the switch in the circuit of the solenoid triggers the solenoid when the line on the fishing rod increases in tension. A lock is used to lock the bar in the one position for carrying purposes.

摘要： A fishing rod holder has a pointed post capable of being pushed into the ground, and pivotable member pivotably mounted on the upper end of the post. This member is designed to hold and support the handle of a fishing rod. A spring is provided co-acting between the member and the post to cause the member, when not restrained, to raise the forward end of the fishing rod. Protruding horizontally from the post is a structure which slidably supports an elongated sear. Another spring is provided to urge the sear toward the post. Depending from the forward end of the pivotable member is a keeper having a hole at its lower end. The purpose of the hole is to be engaged by the sear when the sear is in an extended position. The first mentioned spring provides a friction force between the sear and its support structure which force is sufficient to prevent the second mentioned spring from urging or retracting the sear towards the post. An electrical switch is provided between the post and the sear so that when the sear is retracted the switch is closed to activate a signal, such as a light or buzzer.

摘要： A fishing pole holder for supporting a fishing pole then for lifting the pole in response to a pull on the fishing line is formed by a swingable handle engaging socket mounted upon a ground or other support and biased to a vertically upright position by a coil spring. The pole handle socket is latched in a generally horizontal position by a line releasable latch mechanism. Upon a pull on the fishing line in response to a bite by a fish on the bait, the latch is released and the pole swung upwardly to tension the line and set the hook. In the upright position, the pole is held with the line under tension to prevent escape of the fish.

摘要： A fishing pole holder and catching device which may be removably clamped to a supporting member in a boat or the device has a spike that may be driven into the ground for supporting the device. The device has an arm for holding a fishing rod and the arm is swingably secured to a base. Novel adjustable means holds the arm and fish pole in an operative and inclined position preparatory to catching a fish. This adjustable means includes a spring biased pawl and a ratchet for holding the arm and fishing rod in the operative position into which they have been swung. A leaf spring swings the arm and fish pole into a vertical position when the spring biased pawl is automatically freed from the ratchet when there is a pull on the fish line and pole due to a fish being caught by the fish hook.

摘要： A portable bite-responsive fishing rod support is equipped with novel coordinating facilities and provides a structurally practical automatic fish catcher. A vertical frame provides a desirable ground-supported stand. A second complemental frame provides a fishing rod holder and is responsively cradled atop the stand. A spring-loaded trigger latch is released by a trip chain actuated by the tiltable rearward part of the rod holder. When the front end of the properly cocked holder is sprung the line is forcibly yanked and the fishhook is set in the mouth of the fish.
