摘要： The present disclosure relates to tip-down devices used in fishing and particularly adapted for use in ice fishing. In various exemplary embodiments, the tip down includes a pivoting rod holder wherein the fishing rod pivots between two positions and automatically moves away from intermediate positions, the two positions differing in the tip of the fishing rod being held upward or downward. In various exemplary embodiments, the disclosed tip-down includes a line clip, which is used to temporarily hold the fishing line in place (e.g., at a point between the reel and the first eye of the fishing rod). The disclosed tip-down the fishing rod to be set up in a way that allows a fish to take the bait and attempt to swim away without resistance from the fishing line or rod while still indicating a strike and allowing the user, who may be remote from the fishing rod, time to respond.

The rod holder comprises an elongated sleeve defining a proximal end, a distal end and a body disposed between the proximal end and the distal end. The body delimits an internal channel that extends between the proximal end and the distal end and that opens out of the distal end. The distal end includes a first cut-out and a second cut-out which are in communication with the internal channel and in communication with each other. The second cut-out is positioned perpendicular with respect to the first cut-out and opening out of the distal end wherein the second cutout is sized and shaped to guide the handle of the fishing rod to the first cut-out as the fishing rod enters the distal end and into the internal channel. The first cut-out is sized and shaped to accept the handle as the handle rotates from the second cut-out and into the first cut-out such that the first cut-out contacts the handle when a fish strikes the fishing line to prevent the rod from exiting the internal channel under force of the fish strike.

摘要： The invention provides a fishing apparatus having a pivot arm mounted on a frame with a fishing line paid out on one end of the pivot arm via a flexible fishing rod and a hooking mechanism connected to the opposite end via a trigger line and a pull line. The hooking mechanism may resemble a mouse trap with a trigger connected to the trigger line arm a retaining arm engaging the trigger and retaining a spring-loaded arm in the set position. The spring-loaded arm is connected to the pull line. A fish trying to swim with the hook will cause the pivot arm to tip down, triggering the hooking mechanism. The spring-loaded arm pivots downward rapidly, pulling the pivot arm so that the fishing rod moves upward rapidly and sets the hook in the fish's mouth. The spring bias in the spring-loaded arm then keeps the fishing line under tension so that the fish doesn't release the hook without ripping the hook from the mouth.

摘要： This invention securely holds a fishing rod and reel in a variety of situations and automatically sets the fishing hook when a fish strikes the baited hook or lure. Adapters hold the vertical stand either on a pond bank, a boat or dock rail, or dock flooring. The vertical stand pivotally supports a rod and reel holder, which is configured to hold the fishing tackle securely and without damage. The fishing line is looped under the trigger lever, which is raised and rotated by the pull on the fishing line when a fish strikes the bait. The catch arm is released as the trigger lever is lifted. The rod and reel holder is spring loaded and pivots around the support point when the catch arm is released, thus snapping to a more upright position, which action sets the hook.

摘要： A device for automatically setting a hook in a fish uses a simple post to which the major components are assembled, which post has a pointed bottom for insertion into ice or snow, for ice fishing in the winter, or to which a appropriate clamp may be attached so that the post can be connected to other supports such as a pier or the gunwale of a boat for fishing during the other seasons. The device incorporates a signal flag and it also incorporates a spring mechanism for avoiding activation if a fish only makes a passing attempt at taking the bait, rather than a full strike. This mechanism takes the form of a lever and a first spring-loaded rod attached to a recoil mechanism. If the rod is caused to move with sufficient force it will actuate the recoil mechanism which, in turn, moves the lever and releases a second spring-loaded rod, effectively setting the hook in the fish's mouth. The recoil mechanism is adjustable so that its sensitivity can be set in accordance with the species of fish being sought. In addition, the recoil mechanism can counteract the effects of wind and hence avoid inadvertent actuation when there is no fish striking at the bait.
