    Abstract: A mixing valve assembly includes a valve housing defining an interior, a cold inlet along a first axis, a hot inlet, and a mixed outlet. A metering ball within the interior rotates about the first axis. The metering ball has an outer shell defining: a cold port aligned with the cold inlet; a hot port selectively aligned with the hot inlet; a cold outlet connected to the cold port; and a hot outlet connected to the hot port. Rotation of the metering ball aligns the hot port with the hot inlet, the cold outlet with the mixed outlet, and the hot outlet with the mixed outlet to varying degrees. The metering ball has a central flowpath for hot water and a radially outward flowpath for cold water.

    Abstract: An all-in-one manifold assembly is fabricated separately from and coupled to a pressure vessel of a water filter system. The manifold assembly includes two valve assemblies configured to be rotated between an operational position, a by-pass position and a shut-off position. Rotation of the valve assemblies can occur by manual or automatic rotation. The manifold assembly may further include ports for one or more sensors. A controller can smartly operate the manifold assembly.

    Abstract: A system for remotely measuring the characteristics of water passing through a plumbing control device (PCD) includes a sensor within the interior of the PCD. The sensor is configured to measure characteristics of the water to obtain measured data. The sensor is also linked to a microcontroller of the PCD. An antenna board is linked, and configured to transmit power, to both the microcontroller and the sensor. A mobile device is configured to locate the antenna board. The mobile device transmits power to the antenna board which, in turn, transmits power to the microcontroller and the sensor. When power is not being transmitted from the antenna board, the microcontroller and the sensor are powered off.

    Abstract: A water heating and treatment system with UV lamp and anti-scale water treatment sanitation for suppression of pathogens and undesired bacterial content in a domestic hot water system includes an anti-scale device, and a UV sanitation lamp. A single or multiple mixing station supplies heated water to one or multiple temperature zones. A water heater sanitation loop includes a sanitation loop pump to circulate hot water within the water heater. A three-way return water diverter valve allows for safe sanitation of a domestic hot water system by diverting over temperature re-circulated water away from the mixing valve to a drain, as needed. A method for treating hot water to suppress pathogens and undesired bacterial content in a domestic hot water system is also described.

    Abstract: A cross-connection valve, with upstream and downstream valving, which prevents backflow from contaminating the source of liquid is provided with field serviceability features by arranging the upstream valving and backflow discharge passageway means on an access door that normally serves as part of the valve body. A tool is arranged to enter through the discharge passage to hold the upstream valving in assembled condition on the access door, to permit field servicing for repair or replacement of the upstream valving, when the access door is open, and the downstream valving is also accessible for field servicing through the opening for the access door.
