Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch input device capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface is disclosed. The touch input device includes a substrate and a display module. A common voltage electrode is disposed within the display module. The touch input device further comprises an electrode which is disposed at a position where a distance between the electrode and the common voltage electrode changes according to the touch on the touch surface. The distance changes according to a magnitude of the pressure of the touch. Further, an electric signal depending on the distance is outputted from the electrode.

Abstract: A touch pressure sensitivity correction method may be provided that includes: defining a plurality of reference points on a touch sensor panel; generating a reference data for a capacitance change amount sensed by applying the same pressure to the plurality of reference points; generating an interpolated data corresponding to a capacitance change amount for a random point present between the plurality of reference points; calculating, on the basis of the reference data and interpolated data, with respect to the reference points and the random point respectively, a correction factor for correcting a sensitivity of a touch input device to a target value; and correcting uniformly for the touch pressure sensitivity of the touch input device by applying the calculated correction factor to each corresponding point.

Abstract: A sensitivity compensation method of a touch input device sensing a touch pressure may be provided. The sensitivity compensation method includes: defining a plurality of reference points spaced apart from each other on a touch sensor panel; generating a reference data corresponding to a capacitance change amount sensed by applying a predetermined pressure to the plurality of reference points; generating, on the basis of the reference data, an interpolated data corresponding to a capacitance change amount for a random point present between the plurality of reference points; calculating, on the basis of the generated reference data and interpolated data, with respect to the reference point and random point respectively, a compensation factor for compensating a sensitivity of the touch input device to a target value; and compensating uniformly for the sensitivity of the touch input device by applying the calculated compensation factor to each corresponding points.

Abstract: A mobile terminal may be provided that includes: a touch screen which detects touch information including a touch pressure; a camera unit which is operable in a plurality of photographing modes; a control unit which, when a touch pressure having a magnitude greater than a predetermined magnitude is applied to the touch screen while photographing a subject in a first photographing mode among the plurality of photographing modes, switches the photographing mode to a second photographing mode and controls the subject to be photographed. Since the mobile terminal according to the embodiment of the present invention uses a control method based on a touch pressure, it is possible to very easily switching various photographing modes including the picture photographing mode and the video photographing mode.

Abstract: A virtual touch pad operation method includes: determining whether or not a hovering input or a touch input to a touch screen meets a predetermined condition; entering a virtual touch pad mode when the hovering input or the touch input meets the predetermined condition; and operating a virtual touch pad. A terminal includes: a touch screen; and a controller which controls a hovering input or a touch input to the touch screen and displays a virtual touch pad on a portion of the touch screen by the hovering input, or the terminal includes: a touch screen, and a controller which distinguishes a touch input to a virtual touch pad in accordance with a pressure magnitude or area of the touch and controls the operation of the virtual touch pad. The virtual touch pad is formed on a portion of the touch screen by the touch input satisfying a predetermined condition.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a touch input device capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface includes a display panel and an electrode disposed under the display panel. An electrical characteristic detected at the electrode is changed by the bending of the display panel. A magnitude of the pressure applied to the touch surface is detected according to the change amount of the electrical characteristic. The display panel includes a first area and a second area. A pressure detection sensitivity of the first area is higher than a pressure detection sensitivity of the second area. When the first area and the second are bent to the same degree, a change amount of the electrical characteristic detected when a pressure is applied to the second area is greater than a change amount of the electrical characteristic detected when a pressure is applied to the first area.
