Abstract: A stand-alone remote sensor arrangement (2) for monitoring parameter activity in a cable (4), the arrangement comprises a sensor unit (6) and a power source unit (8) connected to each other by a connecting cable (10), and a control unit (12), the power source unit (8) is configured to supply energy to said sensor unit (6), the sensor unit (6) comprises a shielded housing (14) enclosing a toroid-shaped core (16) configured to be fixed around the cable (4) to be monitored, and the toroid-shaped core (16) is provided with at least one gap where a Hall sensor element (18) is arranged. The remote sensor arrangement (2) is configured to be operated in a low current consumption mode and in a measurement mode, in which measurement mode said Hall sensor element (18) is configured to sense a predetermined parameter activity, e.g. flowing current, of said cable (4), and that said control unit (12) is configured to change the mode of operation of said sensor arrangement (2). The sensor unit (6) further comprises a sensor activation unit (20) arranged and structured to sense parameters related to magnetic field variations in said core (16) caused by said parameter activity of said cable (2), and to generate a sensor activation signal (22) including parameter values dependent on said sensed parameters, wherein the control unit (12) is configured to receive said sensor activation signal (22) and to evaluate said parameter values in relation to predetermined mode changing criteria, and to change mode of operation of said sensor arrangement (2) dependent on the result of said evaluation.

Abstract: An airbag module and a rail vehicle with an airbag module are described herein. The airbag module includes a support flap with a front end and a rear end. The rear end of the support flap is thereby pivotably mounted by means of a first pivot bearing, wherein the airbag module is convertible from a closed state into an open state by pivoting the support flap and the front end of the support flap thereby moves toward the track. The airbag module includes an airbag fixed on the airbag module. The airbag is folded in the closed state of the airbag module, and is unfolded in the open state of the airbag module. In its unfolded state, the airbag projects beyond the front end of the support flap, so that the unfolded airbag and the support flap together form an impact protection for a person on the track. Furthermore, a rail vehicle with one or a plurality of airbag modules is described.

Abstract: An electric machine comprises a housing (9) enclosing at least a rotor (5) and stator windings (4) of a stator (2) of the machine and comprising an end shield (10, 11) at each axial end of the machine. The housing has an air inlet (15) at a first axial end (12) of the machine and a peripheral air outlet (16) at the other, second axial end (13) of the machine. A fan (17) is arranged in the housing at said second axial end to rotate with the rotor for creating a flow of air through the housing from the air inlet to the air outlet for cooling parts of the electric machine. An air outlet channel (19) conducts air radially leaving the fan to the air outlet (16). This channel has a first channel portion with first walls (21) directing air leaving the fan (17) axially back in the direction of the first axial end (12) and a second channel portion with second walls (23) redirecting the air flow from the fan to assume a major radial component.

Abstract: A rail vehicle includes an airbag assembly having a housing, an airbag, a lid, at least one vessel and an aesthetic body panel. The airbag assembly is installed at an end of the rail vehicle. The airbag is placed inside the housing and the lid closes the housing. The lid is attached to the airbag so that it is located at a bottom portion of the airbag when the airbag is fully deployed. The lid and the aesthetic body panel, distant by a gap when the airbag is stored, are provided with compatible connecting interfaces so that the aesthetic body panel attaches to the lid through interconnection of the connecting interfaces upon inflation of the airbag with the pressurized fluid. The aesthetic body panel protect the inflated airbag from wear against the ground on which the rail vehicle travels.

Abstract: A linear induction motor (LIM) including a primary core extending longitudinally and having a front portion and a rear portion. Coils are mounted on the primary core. The coils include a first set of coils mounted on the front portion and spaced apart from each other by a first pitch. The coils further having a second set of coils, between the first set of coils and the rear portion, which are spaced apart from each other by an industry-standard distance. Each one of the first pitch is greater than the industry-standard distance for reducing an end effect onto the LIM when the LIM travels forward. The first set of coils may have different spaces between its coils and may also include equally spaced coils.

Abstract: A running gear for a rail vehicle includes one or more wheel sets, each having a revolution axis and each being guided by a pair of transversally spaced axle boxes. The running gear further includes a running gear frame, a primary suspension assembly between each of the axle boxes and the running gear frame, and a secondary suspension stage for supporting a vehicle superstructure on the running gear frame. Each primary suspension assembly has at least a main spring assembly having a vertical stiffness and a horizontal stiffness that is identical in a transverse direction of the running gear frame and in a longitudinal direction of the running gear frame perpendicular to the transverse direction. The primary suspension assembly further has an anisotropic interface assembly in series with the main spring assembly between the running gear frame and the axle box. The anisotropic interface assembly is such that the primary suspension assembly has a transverse stiffness and a longitudinal stiffness wherein the transverse stiffness is substantially different from the longitudinal stiffness.

Abstract: An electric system has an electrical energy source connected to an electrical energy sink by at least one feeding line. The arrangement has a temperature dependent member which upon an increase of the temperature thereof above a predetermined level activates an irreversible movement of movable means (24) which by this movement cuts off the arc (a) and/or removes hot ionized gases (28) and by that prevents the arcing to continue in the feeding line past the arrangement.
