摘要:
A tailored diaper or diaper cover is constructed of a waterproof diaper shell enclosing an elongated sling of waterproof material having its upper and lower ends attached to, and its opposite sides free and floating on, the shell. A fluid absorbent pad on the inner surface of the sling is circumscribed by the waterproof material of the sling so as to establish a channel to entrap and isolate fluid from the shell. The lines of attachment between the waterproof and fluid absorbent materials at the upper and lower ends of the sling are arcuate, and the periphery of the sling is covered by elastic trim, causing the sling and pad to cup the pubis of a user when the diaper is worn. Entrapment of fluid within the sling may be enhanced by gel pad inserts. A washable pad of novel "butterfly" construction within the diaper or diaper cover enhances fluid absorption and drying. Another aspect of this invention provides embodiments of a tailored urinal for men, having a novel fluid containment bag and adapted to reside within underwear.

A diaper or other garment comprises a first piece of fluid absorbant fabric (12) profiled to the contour of a human body and having a pair of arcuate corner extensions (20) carrying hook type filamentary fastener strips (26) adapted to be coupled to loop type filamentary material (24) on a stomach portion of the garment when the garment is folded to be worn. An arcuate, protective cover (28) at each corner extension carries a filamentary loop strip (32) to self-close with the filamentary hooks (26) on the extensions and thereby protect the hooks (26) from lint during washing. Each filamentary strip (26, 32) is sewn to a fabric base (35) to prevent the strip from wrinkling or warping as a result of the high temperatures associated with commercial laundering. In another embodiment, a pair of two ply fabric tabs (46, 48) attached together at one end and to a waist belt (56) or garment (37) carry a strips (50, 52) of complementary filamentary fastener material. The strips are centrally positioned and span the width of the tabs whereby when the strips (50, 52) are coupled to each other, the region of the tabs (46, 48) above the strips (50, 52) establishes a loop to receive the end loops of an absorbant pad insert (38).

A diaper assembly 2 includes a diaper garment 10 and a fluid absorbent pad 60. The diaper garment 10 has an outer shell 12 from which a sling 20 is suspended. The sling 20 is fluid resistant and has front and rear pockets 34, 36 into which opposite ends of the fluid absorbent pad 60 can be inserted. The front pocket 34 is formed by fluid resistant shield 50 that is surrounded on three sides by gussets 40, 42 that are more skin friendly than the shield 50. Multilayer pads 60 can be carried by the sling 20.

Entrapment of fluid within the sling may be enhanced by jell pad inserts. A washable pad of novel "butterfly" construction within the diaper or diaper cover enhances fluid absorption and drying. Another aspect of this invention provides embodiments of a tailored urinal for men, having a novel fluid containment bag and adapted to reside within underwear.

An undergarment, such as a diaper, includes a hidden central core pocket for receipt of an absorbent pad. The pocket is formed between an inner, fluid permeable layer and a fluid isolation layer. The fluid isolation layer is attached to the inner or anchor layer and is located between the inner layer and an outer layer to which the inner layer is attached. The pocket is narrower than the outer to isolate fluids from edges of the outer layer and from diaper leg openings. Both the fluid isolation layer and the outer layer may be fluid resistant to provide additional protection against leakage. Adjustment fasteners on the outside of the outer shell permit size adjustment for the diaper and the adjustment fasteners are positioned within the periphery of the pocket so that presence of the absorbent pad will enhance comfort.

A protective undergarment is provided according to exemplary aspects of this invention. The undergarment includes a waist portion adapted to encircle the waist of a user. The undergarment also includes a crotch portion having an end segment extending from the waist portion, a central segment, and a terminal end segment attachable to the waist portion. The terminal end segment of the crotch portion extends substantially perpendicular to the waist portion.

A reusable infant or adult diaper with an inner anchored pocketed sling structure adjoining an outer shell or pant-type garment. The outer shell or garment fits the wearer's torso and legs, and the inner anchored sling fits and conforms to the wearer's pubic region. Included are mechanisms to fasten and remove the anchored sling from underwear and to stabilize and/or anchor the sling when retrofitted to conventional underwear.

A protective undergarment having an outer shell of fluid resistant material and a fluid containment sling of fluid resistant material connected to the inner surface of the shell and adapted to receive and retain a fluid absorbent pad. The ends of the shell are folded in to establish frontal and rear bumpers. One end of the sling is folded under the frontal bumper to form a pocket that is attached to and hidden beneath the frontal bumper, and remains open to receive one end of the fluid absorbent pad. The other end of the sling is attached to the rear bumper. This construction accommodates a pad of greater length for improved absorption without increasing the length of the shell. Methods of constructing protective undergarments with unique hidden pocket slings and fasteners are described.
