Abstract: A surgical driver for use with an implant, having a shaft with proximal and distal ends and an attachment piece with proximal and distal ends. The surgical driver including a coupling arrangement that couples the shaft and the attachment piece relative to one another. The coupling arrangement includes a recess formed at the proximal end of the attachment piece and has at least one retaining member for reversibly engaging the shaft. The coupling arrangement is adapted to accommodate interaction between the surgical driver and an implant so that variable-axis torque on the implant is minimized.
