摘要: An electronic practice management system for use in healthcare environments includes one or more components for converting tangible payments into standardized electronic payment documents, such as a HIPAA 835 document. For example, a healthcare provider receives a tangible check, and passes the check through a check scanner, which electronically reads the check into one or more data fields. The read data fields can then be correlated with standardized fields in the HIPAA 835 document, and can be further correlated to a patient's account stored locally. The created 835 payment document can then be used to update the patient's account directly in the practice management system. Additional implementations include converting other tangible patient payments, such as credit card and cash payments, to create an 835 for similar ends.

摘要: A custom-fit ski boot orthotic which efficiently transfers movement of the foot to the edges of the skis. The orthotic has a substantially rigid base plate attached to a rigid heel post. The base plate has an arch portion 20-40% shallower than the skier's actual arch which permits the limited movement necessary for foot comfort, without any significant loss in transfer efficiency. The base plate also has a heel cup portion to prevent heel roll. The orthotic of the present invention may be used as an insert or be built into the footbed of a ski boot.

摘要: A method for a computer system includes receiving an identifier associated with a client streaming player, determining one or more attributes associated with the identifier from a data structure in response to the identifier, determining available channels from a plurality of channels that are to be made available to the client streaming player in response to the identifier, wherein available channels comprises a first channel, but not the second channel, determining a first graphical identifier associated with the first channel, providing the first graphical identifier to the client streaming player, receiving a user selection of the first graphical identifier indicating a user request to associate the first channel with the computer system, and providing an indicator of a server network address associated with the first channel to the client streaming player.

摘要: An electronic practice management system can be configured to send batch update requests to one or more payors (e.g., insurers) of one or more pending claims for healthcare service. In one implementation, a practice management system responds to a request for an update to one or more claims. The system then generates a batch update request message that has a batch identifier, and may be directed to one or more payors. Responses to the batch update message are then processed by the practice management system, and then provided as appropriate upon request to the healthcare provider. The healthcare provider can request the updates automatically from multiple payors in future batch requests based on a predetermined time interval. The system can also communicate with one or more banks to identify specific information regarding claim payment.

摘要: A mobile terminal (6) communicates via a satellite (8), which projects a number of overlapping spot beams (10), with a fixed earth station (2). To determine which spot beam (10) is to be used for communication, the mobile terminal signals in a common signalling channel which is simultaneously received by all, or a subgroup of, the spot beams (10). The satellite (8) retransmits to the fixed earth station (2) in separate channels the signal as received by each of the spot beams (10) which are able to receive the common signalling channel. The relative strengths of the signal as received in the different spot beams (10) are compared at the fixed earth station and a communications channel is assigned to the mobile terminal in one of the spot beams (10), selected according to the comparison of signal strengths.
