Abstract: A method for operating a suction-type cleaner, in which, in a manner controlled in the filter dedusting position by an electromagnetically actuated switchover valve arrangement (19, 20, 21), at least one filter (9), through which the dirt-laden air flow passes, is dedusted in the opposite direction to said air flow, and the dirt-laden suction air from the dirt-collecting container (1) firstly passes through the at least one filter (9) which is adjoined, in the flow direction, by a suction chamber (12), which is adjoined downstream by an intermediate chamber (26) which is arranged on the suction side of the turbine (30), and a pressure chamber (34) is arranged downstream of the turbine (30), wherein, in order to reduce the actuating force of the switchover valve arrangement (19, 20, 21) in the dedusting position of the suction-type cleaner, the pressure between the pressure chamber (34) and the intermediate chamber (26) is equalized.

Abstract: A tipping method for a tipping arrangement which includes a first element (1) and a second element (2), arranged between a moveable base unit (4) and a rotatable container (3). The container (3) is rotated by moving the second element (2) along a first track (7) on the first element (1). The second element (2) is moved along the track (7) by rotating the second element (2) relative to the first element (1). A number of engaging parts (9, 10) may be arranged on the tracks (7, 8) of the elements (1, 2), respectively. An interlocking arrangement may be arranged between the first element (1) and the second element (2) to secure the second element (2) in a starting position. A movable unit includes the tipping arrangement and a section unit, with the container (3) locked in a vertical position by a locking arrangement.

Abstract: A system has a primary unit (1) and a number of secondary units (16), which may be stored in receiving slots in the primary cleaning unit (1) or be coupled to the primary unit. The primary and secondary units are configured as movable cleaning or grounds maintenance units capable of performing at least one cleaning or grounds maintenance operation. The primary unit (1) is powered by a power source (2), which also powers the secondary unit (16) or charges a power source (17) in the secondary unit (16). Each unit has a communications module (13, 25) capable of communicating with each other and/or a remote location. At least one of the units (1, 16) may include one or more proximity or near-field sensors and/or one or more sensor for sensing the performance of the unit (1, 16).
