Abstract: A method of setting a common electrode voltage of a liquid crystal display panel in a liquid crystal module is provided. The liquid crystal module includes the liquid crystal display panel including an alignment film, and a backlight disposed behind the liquid crystal display panel. The method of setting a common electrode voltage of a liquid crystal display panel includes: eliminating an electric charge of the alignment film by turning on the backlight without driving the liquid crystal display panel to emit light of the backlight onto the liquid crystal display panel; and setting the common electrode voltage of the liquid crystal display panel by adjusting the common electrode voltage, after the eliminating of the electric charge.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: first and second liquid crystal panels disposed to be overlapped with each other; a parallax reduction unit that generates the second output image signal by performing smoothing processing on a first signal based on the input image signal; a first temporal filter that generates a first response correction signal determining the first output image signal based on the second output image signal; and a corrector that generates the first output image signal based on at least the first response correction signal and a second signal based on the input image signal. The first temporal filter generates the first response correction signal of a current frame based on the second output image signal of the current frame and the first response correction signal of a previous frame.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes: a display unit including a first liquid crystal panel and a second liquid crystal panel disposed on a rear surface side of the first liquid crystal panel; and an image processor that generates first and second output image signals respectively output to the first and second liquid crystal panels based on an input image signal. The image processor includes; a distributor that distributes the input image signal into first and second distribution image signals used to generate the first and second output image signals, respectively; and a first unevenness corrector that generates the first output image signal by performing first unevenness correction to prevent display unevenness of the display unit on the first distribution image signal output from the distributor, and outputs the generated first output image signal to the first liquid crystal panel.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display panel includes: thin film transistors provided in corresponding one of pixels and including a gate electrode, a source electrode, a drain electrode, and a semiconductor layer; a scanning line formed in a layer identical to that of the gate electrode and electrically connected to the gate electrode; and a first light shielding body formed in a layer identical to that of at least one of the source electrode and the drain electrode. The semiconductor layer is formed above the scanning line with an insulating layer interposed between the semiconductor layer and the scanning line, the first light shielding body is located above the scanning line and beside the semiconductor layer, and the first light shielding body and the scanning line are connected to each other through a contact hole made in the insulating layer.

Abstract: A display device includes: a first frame including a frame portion covering a peripheral portion of a display panel; a second frame including a panel support sandwiching the display panel with the frame portion; an optical sheet being opposite to the display panel in a first direction, an outer peripheral end of the optical sheet being opposite to the panel support; a transparent substrate on which the optical sheet is disposed; a third frame including a main body having an accommodation space accommodating light emitting elements, and a substrate support extending from the main body to support the transparent substrate; and spacer members disposed between the panel support and the substrate support. The optical sheet and the panel support are disposed with a space interposed therebetween in the first direction, and each spacer member includes a restriction unit restricting movement of the transparent substrate in the first direction.
