摘要: An apparatus for controlling a radio bearer reconfiguration in a cellular communication system, such as a UMTS communication system, comprises a reconfiguration instigator (301) which initiates a radio bearer reconfiguration for a radio bearer supporting a communication between a base station (105) and a user equipment (107). Rather than using a static worst case estimate, a reconfiguration switch time processor (309) determines a reconfiguration switch time in response to a dynamic parameter of the radio bearer reconfiguration process. In particular, the radio parameter may be a size of a radio bearer configuration message transmitted to the user equipment (107). The reconfiguration switch time is transmitted to the base station by a base station communication processor (311) and to the user equipment (107) by a UE communication processor (313). The base station (105) and the user equipment (107) reconfigure their circuitry to apply the reconfigured parameters from the reconfiguration switch time.

摘要: The present invention relates to radio communications and in particular to antenna structures. There is a growing demand in the radio communication system market to reduce the size and cost of radio communication sites and to reduce the maintenance costs involved. Many radio communication sites are also costly and difficult to maintain especially when dealing with components of the antenna structures which are located near the top of the antenna structures. The present invention attempts to address these problems. The present invention provides an antenna structure comprising a hollow antenna mast having an inside and an outside, a movable module disposed inside the hollow antenna mast and a lifting mechanism. The movable module has at least one antenna and/or at least one RF module. The a lifting mechanism permits the raising and lowering of the movable module inside the hollow antenna mast. Furthermore, the communications equipment can be placed inside the hollow antenna mast.

摘要: An electric induction motor can be given a kick start without excessive current drain on the supply by first connecting a unidirectional supply to a winding of the motor to build up a stationary rotor flux and then applying a starting current to another winding of the motor to produce a stator flux at an appropriate angle (between 0.degree. and 180.degree.) with the stationary rotor flux. Once the motor has begun accelerating the normal running supply can be connected. This starting current may be derived from a capacitance which is charged up during the period of establishing the stationary rotor flux.

摘要: A method and apparatus for defining the location of a medical instrument relative to features of a medical workspace including a patient's body region are described. Pairs of two-dimensional images are obtained, preferably by means of two video cameras making images of the workspace along different sightlines which intersect. A fiducial structure is positioned in the workspace for defining a three dimensional coordinate framework, and a calibration image pair is made. The calibration image pair comprises two 2D projections from different locations of the fiducial structure. After the calibration image pair is made, the fiducial structure is removed. A standard projection algorithm is used to reconstruct the 3D framework of the fiducial structure from the calibration image pair. Appropriate image pairs can then be used to locate and track any other feature such as a medical instrument, in the workspace, so long as the cameras remain fixed in their positions relative to the workspace. The computations are desirably performed with a computer workstation including computer graphics capability, image processing capability, and providing a real-time display of the workspace as imaged by the video cameras. Also, the 3D framework of the workspace can be aligned with the 3D framework of any selected volume scan, such as MRI, CT, or PET, so that the instrument can be localized and guided to a chosen feature. No guidance arc or other apparatus need be affixed to the patient to accomplish the tracking and guiding operations.

摘要: A device (10) for concurrently depositing different semi-solid products (12, 14) and 16 in a container (18) in respective vertically-oriented, distinct, homogeneous masses includes first and second inlet ports (24) and (26) provided at an upper end of a main filler tube (20) and first and second filler tube outlet ports disposed in a nozzle-form outlet opening (52) at a lower distal end of the main filler tube (20). A dividing insert is carried within the main filler tube (20) in a generally vertical orientation in a position separating the tube (20) into first and second channels. The first and second channels provide fluid communication between the first inlet port (24) and the first outlet port and between the second inlet port (26) and the second outlet port. The insert reorients the flow of first and second products (12) and (14) from respective upper azimuth positions at the inlet ports (24) and (26) to respective lower azimuth positions at the outlet ports, which are angularly offset from the upper azimuth positions.
